RTW
Return to Work - been off on and off over the last couple of weeks between being sick and moving house. We are all moved now and the keys to the rental have been turned in. The longer we are at the new place the more I realise that I will have to let go of Taz. Someone put a brick through the passenger side window last week when it was parked in one of the shared bays out the front. It is a tight squeeze into the car port too, and I had to move the 4x4 to get the bins out!
Anyway in order to replace the 4x4 I need a bike that can tow other bikes. And furniture. The price of the Xtracycle kit is coming down, so converting the Malvern Star into a long tail might be just the ticket. It would also mean that it would go from being 'parts of a bike' to a whole bike and will no longer be on Nic's cull list!
I have also decided I can let go of the old steel racer. She's going to go on ebay. Hopefully tonight, along with the lawn mower. And our old router. And some clear corner lamps that I bought and never fitted to the EA Falcon.
Nic wants to ride the coast road to Geraldton. She always wanted to do it as a kid. I was thinking that we could take a couple of weeks off, ride up to Kalbarri and then catch a coach back to Perth. That way the end point would be more interesting than Gerro, and we could stay a night with Nic's folks (assuming they are still there), and no longer(!) Anyway the xtracycle would be ideal for that kind of thing and also for coming home from coffee afterwork in town, though I told Nic she needs to get a bit lighter cos at the moment she is near the xtracycle weight limit :O
