Wow! Something noteworthy!

No, I am not dead though I might as well be, apparently.

Work is going well, although very stressful at times.

Went to visit Jim in California, and I have decided that I am moving to the San Diego area sometime in the very near future (Arizona or New Mexico would be OK too, but San Diego was really gorgeous). We saw an opera, visited the Zoo, played on the beach, etc. Lots of fun :)

Soooooo. the purpose of this update.

So about a month ago, I bought a car. Officially bought, no scary issues with the dealership or anything. It is mine. It's a Subaru Forester, and it does everything I need it to do, except tow, but that's ok. It has been a great little car and it is a lot of fun to drive.

Yesterday I made my first car payment.

I also decided, that since it was my first weekend home and by myself in the last two months pretty much, that I wanted to treat myself. I went and bought new shoes and saw The Devil Wears Prada (cute, but not very much like the book), then I headed up to the hotel for Friday Night Acoustic and to visit with some coworkers. Due to the huge number of people out on the plaza (surprisingly more than usual for a friday night at 9:00), I was driving cautiously as visions of drunken frat boy riots or children running into the street kept running through my head. La di da, la di da, a man and his companion stepped right out in front of my car from behind the shrubbery and light posts that decorate the center strip of the plaza (sigh). I did not see them lurking behind it, only that they stepped right out in front of my car, so I do the only thing possible-- slam on the brakes. Car immediately comes to a screeching halt (must write letter to Subaru praising brakes). Man snaps out of possibly drunken inattentiveness and flashes me a grateful look and a wave, presumably to thank me for NOT running down him and his wife/girlfriend/etc. I wave back--

and get rear-ended.

by someone in a Mercedes.

After recouping my thoughts, I open my window and gesture to her to turn left at the intersection we were stopped at, and she nods and kinda waves back. I drive very slowly through the turn, and as soon as my car is clear of the lane she is in--

she steps on the gas.

And speeds away.

I AM REALLY ANGRY.

Could not get license plate due to angle of turn and so I call the cops to report her.

My brand new car ::sob:: now has a print of the Mercedes star on its rear bumper.

Although as far as I can tell there was no damage to the structure of my car (again with the letter to Subaru), I still need to get it checked out.

Thoughts on assholes who drive expensive cars and then do hit-and-run accidents?

I hope her fucking mercedes was totaled and that she has to explain it to daddy... .or maybe her asshole husband.

Or that she got pulled over for speeding later and got a DUI or something.

Karma is a bitch lady, just wait.

So anyway, that kind of ruined my "me-date." So I went up to the hotel anyway and proceeded to give my blood sugar an unhealthy little boost. Which I am paying for now, but it felt good at the time, so f*ck it.

On the bright side, I bought new jeans at the end of may because the old ones were falling off, and I need new ones again already. Thank goodness the other ones were only 10 bucks a pair (gotta love end of season sales-- no other place you can by Seven jeans for 10 bucks a pair).

I will try and update more ::sigh::
