It's been awhile. This will be long.

I thought I'd take this time to catch anyone who's interested in my life up on what has happened in the past month and a half.

My last update was Spring Break #1, so I'll pick up with Spring Break #2.
Spring Break #2 was no IUS week. This felt like more of a break than the previous week b/c I had 2 complete days off instead of just mornings off. Still didn't really feel like a true Spring Break, though. On Friday, we high-tailed it out of Louisville to head down to Alabama for Jacqueline's baby shower which was the next day. After the baby shower, we got to hear Leon Fleischer play with the ASO; good concert. The ASO sounded better than I had ever heard them.

Thus began Spring Break #3. We headed over to Atlanta after mass on Sunday; the plan was for me to attend a conference and for us to stay with Colin's sister. This was the first time I had ever attended this conference, and it was really great. I not only got to catch up with old friends and teachers, but I attended some great sessions, got some great info, and got a bunch of free music. On top of that, we got to spend a lot of time with Colin's family, which was fun. :) Even though it was a working vacation, since I was attending the conference, I really enjoyed it a lot, and this was the one that actually felt like a Spring Break. Unfortunately, we had to leave on Thursday to head back up to KY since I was supposed to teach a make-up lesson that night which ended up getting canceled on the way up to KY. :(

The next week was the start of working my butt off to get people ready for recitals and juries galore. My family came up to visit that weekend for my birthday and Easter. That was nice. :) We went to Easter vigil to see a friend of ours get initiated into the Church. It meant a lot to him that my whole family was there. That was a good thing.

The next week my work load increased even more b/c I had A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum to add into my schedule. I flew home that weekend for John's confirmation (I was his sponsor). I flew back on Sunday morning. Quickest trip ever. Unfortunately, my flight was late both ways. Arg. And I missed Thunder for this trip.

The next week was the last week of Forum, so still super busy. This was followed by jury week (again very busy) and finally we were into May.

Since May has rolled around, I have been much less busy. I have been able to make exercising a priority, as well as finally having time to cook and eat with my husband again. April was crazy.

Work-wise, the first week of May was spent getting kids ready for recitals, and the second was spent conferencing with parents and getting summer scheduling done. I just finished the scheduling today.

I am currently down in Alabama, trying to help Jacqueline get ready for the baby. Hopefully I am being helpful. We got all the baby stuff put away in the changing table/dresser that they got. We have rearranged her drawers in her own dresser so that she can fit her clothes in there (including maternity clothes!). We have re-organized many things trying to make her space as efficient as possible. We have a trip to Babies-R-Us planned for tomorrow to get remaining items she needs. I wish I didn't have to leave on her due date, but babies don't stick to schedules, so I can't just hang around.

The good news is that I will be teaching only on Tuesdays and Thursdays this summer, so I will be able to come down for an extended weekend if I need or want to. Also, Jacqueline is planning to come up in August, and Lauren and John are planning on spending extended periods of time up in Louisville with us this summer.

Hopefully since I will have more time, I will update more this summer.
