Sister is leaving tomorrow. Mom should be here in a few hours to help sister drive to Hollywood. I'm sad. I'm in denial. I'm trying to be excited for all the opportunity involved in this move and not focus on how scary the neighborhood around Hollywood and Vine is.

Today I'm back to ye olde daily grind. Handed in a paper today which I suspect is amply good toward a passing grade in a 200 level class, but with which I wasn't terribly satisfied. My car went to the mechanics Monday. Tuesday they changed the oil, put a new water pump in it ... and thermostat and something having to do with belts, pulleys and bearings. I'm back! I was absent from the bloggosphere (and cellular service) for about three days at the Vineyard Montana/Wyoming Spring Retreat. The Great Falls Vineyard which runs the Spring and Fall retreats doesn't include the word 'leadership' in the title, but church leaders are really whom it's geared for.

Captain's log, note to self: the alley behind the apartment complex is frickin' slippery. Sliding around, I both brushed the support columns that hold up my carport and bumped the trash-dumpster for the apartments behind mine. No real damage done to either the things I slid into nor the Blazer.

Those of you who read my silliness with any frequency know I took an Italian history class this last semester (btw, for anyone who cares, the semester left my gpa as it was, happily). So, I grew up in the desert in southern California. There, if there was enough snow to make a footprint, everybody canceled everything. School was closed. Public buses often stopped running. Had the conference/training call this morning. Apparently the scores are just to let us know how the client thought we were doing compared to ideal results, but they never see them, they're mostly for our own benefit. And my program manager doesn’t even use them for anything. I really like her a lot, which is nice. I feel much better about the work ( Read more... )
