OK, with a title like that, I should clarify, Twilight is an amazing book!
But I drove to the other side of town last night to get the next Twilight book, New Moon, largely because of the feeling of euphoria I felt reading the scenes with the hero of the first book, Edward Cullen.
(Maybe, there are spoilers, guess it depends on your definition)
I was not got to stay up late reading (yeah, right) but I got to chapter 4 of New Moon, and the uber-hot, amazingly charming and intelligent and self-sacrificing vampire-hero, broke up with the heroin, Bella, and has now disappeared into nowhere'sville with his entire family of good vampires! So I had to keep reading all of chapter 5, praying he was just making a short exit. No such luck.
I'm enough emotionally attached to Bella as the lead that I'm not ready to put New Moon down yet, but I am not quite getting what I bargained for. I think a lot of this is that when I picked up Twilight, I was expecting fantasy, and got paranormal romance. So, the author has messed with my head a little, because it's probably quite normal for the second book in a series romance to be about a breakup, but I am not enough of a romance reader to know that. So. In addition to trying to catch up on the sleep I lost reading Twilight and cataloging Ephron books, I'm also really hoping that the hero gets it together soon, or I am going to be rather hacked that I bought the third book, Eclipse, in hard back if he's not coming back.
