Took a half day sick day today. I think I finally got what was going around the school last week. UGH!! I slept from noon to 7 today. So that would explain being up at 11:15 at night and still having the trumpet section coming in a 7:30 tomorrow morning.
Here is a picture of my band.
The last few weeks have not been good. The kids are trying to push the limits and well I don't let them get to far and they don't like that. Apparently, this school is known for "going through" teachers. And I guess I'm the next one on the list. I guess I appear weak and gullible. Well....as Derek would say I am gullible but so what! :) That can be a good thing when you want to be surprised. The administration is behind me and there is nothing that I can do to make the kids like me when all they want is the director from last year back. Since suppossidly he will be back next year. I just need to get through the year and then I can get a job that wont kill me. We shall see.
First marching compeitition is on Saturday. I hope they get what they worked for, nothing more, nothing less. If that happens we will have a much easier time in reherasals.
L.B. is getting so BIG!! I can't believe how much he has grown. He is such a cutie. Today he jumped up on my bookshelf and was able to see himself in the mirror. He was checking himself out and then started to paw at himself while talking to himself. So funny!! He was a good kitty today and slept with me this afternoon when I was sick. He is such a good friend. We travel everywhere together. Everytime I go up to the Q.C. he comes along for the fun. He loves the house in RockIsland. It has tons more floor space so he is able to run and leap. He likes Mom and Dad's house because he can sit in windows and look outside. I have learned so much about cats since we have been together. L.B.'s will be six months old on Sunday. What a big boy he will be. :)
That is the life in Farmer City big whoopee. During the week it is always "just make it to the weekend and all will be ok" . I don't like living life like that. It sucks! I am hoping next year will be better.
