Let's go backwards.
Yesterday, Drew came to town and it was fun sittin' around the house with him and Joe. I can't really keep up with their antics but that's ok.
Two days ago, I spent a large sum of money on clothes. Shopping isn't one of my favorite things in the world, so I tend to buy clothes in bulk. Nicole helped me overcome my indecisiveness. Also, I have a discount now at Banana Republic because I work there now. Actually, I start tomorrow at 10 am. It's a real job in Corporate America... not something I feel great about. I'm not an official "seller," meaning that I just work the register and the stockroom and such. Given my lack of fashion knowledge, I opted for the "support" position. Pay is the same and I still get to interact with customers. It's all good.
Three days ago, I declared myself well after a battle with sinus/inner ear/virus funk. So John Paul and I went to camp. It wasn't entirely random. I had been a counselor at Sr High I until I got sick. Others have written about how great Sr High I was so I won't go there. John Paul's introduction to the camp world wasn't too overwhelming. He did Rainy Nights, was put to work by Camille, and even got solicited by Allison for Jr High II. He's not quite up for a whole week yet. Maybe never. And that's ok.
Four days ago, alright just kidding. If I did that for every single day since my last entry, things would get pretty long and boring. Everyone would know how seemingly meaningless my life has been for the last month or so.
The thing is, it's actually been pretty incredible.
Malcolm in the Middle is a dumb show. I don't fall for much on TV these days. Meerkat Manor? Now THAT I can handle.
So, I might move to DC in August. It's an 87.1% possibility. The fact that Emily and Franklin will also be there is exciting but purely coincidental. The short story is that I had already been talking about not going back to Mobile. Granted, I was resolved to just go back because it makes practical sense. But just because it was free and has a masters degree at the end of it doesn't make another year of discontent worthwhile, especially if that masters degree isn't necessary or particularly beneficial for my education/career goals. So when John Paul decided to postpone his rotary scholarship stay in Mexico until May so that he could spend Fall working and applying to PhD programs, Webb proposed that we get an apartment with him in DC, where he's currently doing his Truman scholar internship. It's gone from a slightly crazy idea to a somewhat practical plan. I'm excited. My BR job should transfer and I'll also get some kind of nonprofit job.
What else? Jameson has on a $125 shirt. It's a nice shirt. I like that boulder. That's a nice boulder. A little Shrek for your drive home.
I live with Brett. And Chuck and Charo. And John Paul. We have fun. Don't we Chuck? Chuck says yes.
