Chapter 8: Sweet and Innocent
All of a sudden, Yoochun and Junsu found themselves staring at Yunho and Heechul’s disappearing backs.
Yoochun gave a nervous chuckle as he realized that they were alone. An awkward silence followed as they stood staring at each other while standing on the sidewalk.
After a few minutes, Junsu broke the silence. “They know about us, right?” came an uncertain voice matched with a solemn expression.
Before Yoochun could even get a word in Junsu broke into a hysteric ramble, “It’s okay. I know. We can just break up. I won’t be mad at you. I promise. I understand. I don’t want to get in between you and your friends. You guys have been together for forever. I know how important they are to you. I’ll just leave. Yeah, I’ll just leave you now and ah…everything will be okay. Yeah, I’ll leave now...yah...”
Junsu quickly turned to leave as he tried to keep a carefree smile on his face but it faltered as his lips trembled.
Before Junsu could take a step, Yoochun caught his wrist and pulled him into his arms.
“And where do you think your going?”
“Away?” was Junsu’s innocent reply.
Yoochun shook his head as he said, “Can you please stop jumping to conclusions?”
“Huh?” said Junsu as he lifted his eyes up to meet with Yoochun’s soft and caring gaze.
“Look at me and listen to the words that are going to come out of my mouth. What I was going to tell you is that Heechul and Yunho are okay with our relationship so you don’t have to worry. They support us.”
“Oh….” Junsu’s gaze fell to the pavement as he felt embarrassed by his sudden outburst.
“Hey,” came Yoochun’s voice as his lifted Junsu’s chin up with his right hand, “You know, you’re really cute when you blush.”
Hearing this made Junsu blush even more.
“There you go again.” whispered Yoochun as he leaned in closer.
Junsu tried to come up with a retort but his words were cut off as Yoochun’s mouth captured his in a reassuring kiss, their first kiss. It was quick and chaste.
It was a sweet and innocent kiss that made Junsu’s heart flutter and caused his blush to deepen.
Breaking away from the kiss, Junsu felt his cheeks burning yet he could not wipe off the stupid grin that had appeared on his face.
“Um…what are we going to do now?” he asked timidly as he shifted from one foot to another.
“Anything you want,” was the sweet reply.
Junsu pondered about what to do. Then he remembered, “Lets shop for a little bit and then go visit Jae.”
“Jae?” asked a confused Yoochun.
“Yeah, he always works on the weekends at this restaurant nearby,” explained Junsu.
“Oh, okay. Your wish is my command,” winked Yoochun as he reached for Junsu’s hand and intertwined it with his own.
“You’re so corny.” giggled Junsu but on the inside, he felt like his life was perfect and complete with his hand in Yoochun’s.
The couple happily walked towards the watch store that Yoochun had set his eyes on before. The excuse he gave Junsu was that he needed a 'new' watch.
