Books, Days 13-17

Yeah, I'm really bad about sticking to something on a schedule, we all knew that. :)

Day 13 - Favorite childhood book

A book called 'Christina's Ghost', although I can't remember exactly who wrote it. I checked it out from the Lafayette Public Library at least once a month. I really loved any book as a child, though. Some of my other favorites were 'Number the Stars', 'The Pigman', 'The Face on the Milk Carton' and I particuarly liked the 'Babysitters Club' and 'Sweet Valley' series. I had a LOT of books. No wonder I'm 'the nerdy one', lol. Anyway, back to the favorite. I found the book 'Christina's Ghost' on the little tiny shelf at the library where fiction melds into non-fiction, and it was about this girl and her sister who go to live with their uncle and there's a ghost in the house. Very straightforward, lol. You'll see over the course of these days that my favorite books are those where I can be entertained without having to think too much.

Day 14 - Favorite male character

I bet this is where you say 'She's going to say Harry Potter'. LOL. No, that's not my favorite male character. I have a few, the first and foremost being Holden Caufield from 'Catcher in the Rye', because there's something about his attitude that I just love. I also like Fred and George Weasley from the Harry Potter series (well duh, there has to be HP mentioned somewhere in here!) because they're so funny!!

Day 15 - Favorite female character

This is where things get difficult. Edna Pontellier from 'The Awakening' is who immediately comes to mind, but also Daisy from 'The Great Gatsby'. I don't know if they're my favorite, persay, but they come to mind immediately. I think my absolute favorite, though, would be Francie from 'A Tree Grows in Brooklyn'--but that could just be because I love the book. Apparently, to me, male characters stand out more than female?

Day 16 - Your guilty pleasure book

'Roommates' by Katherine Stone. It's as close to 'romance novel' as I dare to read, and it's really not my style nor something I'd normally indulge in. I got it in a bagged book sale from the library and for some reason I just love it! Total chick-lit. :)

Day 17 - Favorite trilogy or tetralogy

That would be the 'Twilight' series. :) The books are sooo much better than the movies, and I devoured them all within a week. I love everything about them.
