EVIL credit reports.

I'm so unhappy!

We found a PERFECT house for us, and theoretically we should qualify because our annual free credit report shows our credit just high enough for a mortgage loan. Well, when Sheri ran our official credit report, there was a HUGE difference in scores and there's no way we can improve it to the point of qualifying.

How can my credit score be so low, you may ask?

Because of a bunch of shit from 2005. Seriously. An incorrectly reported late payment to Chase for our old home mortgage from 2010 (how can we have 30-day-late in June when the loan was paid in full on May 14th?), one late payment in 2007, and an assload of late payments in 2005. 2005 was a bad year for me. I just can't believe that FIVE FUCKING YEARS LATER a stupid late credit card payment (or 10) is coming back to bite me in the ass. If I had known then that I'd be at this point in my life and it would still be haunting me, I would have found another way. I'm so unhappy!!!

So I disputed the Chase thing. I disputed a few addresses that I've never lived at. And I have to wait until 2012 for all of that crap to be off my report.

And of course, the house we're looking at is SO UNDERPRICED! In 2012 we won't be able to AFFORD that kind of house in this district!

I want to throw myself on the ground kicking and screaming to see if that will make a difference, lol.

It really sucks, though. We make decent money, we have virtually no debt, someone lined up to buy our house (which will leave us with only a 300 dollar-balance Target card and my student loans, which we pay a grand total of 75 a month on) and we haven't had any credit trouble since 2005. This is so uncool!

When we first started applying, Jake says "If you can't get the loan, I'll get a loan for you and you can pay it." Great. Problem solved, right? Except when I call him last night to say that we were denied, he 'has to think about it'. I get that it's a big purchase and whatnot, but seriously, what is the difference between him buying my current house and renting it out or him buying the new house, us paying the note, and renting out our old house...he gets his money either way and it's not like we're not going to pay the mortgage, with the exception of that one error, our mortgage records are perfect!

I WANT THAT FLIPPPIN' HOUSE! GRRRRRRRRR!

suckage, money, house
