Oh please no.

If you know me both on FaceBook and Livejournal, please please please do not link or crosspost comments made in this journal to your FB account.

I'm not worried about fannish links, so if your Twitter is all fannish, yay! Go nuts, link away. My concern is blurring the line between the entity that writes fic (Jenna_thorn) and the one that pays taxes (the name on my Facebook account).

MY LJ is at arm's length from my mundane name for a reason and while I accept that no one is truly anonymous on the internet, I do ask that my desire to keep this journal separate from my Facebook be respected.

My Facebook page was built as a deliberately public journal, so my family (no big deal) and my husband's family (much bigger deal) have access to it. Because I have people from conventions linked to my Facebook page, the woman my first husband left me for is one degree removed from it which means he's two degrees at best. Because I'm trying to be a forgiving person and take the higher ground and all that shit, one harpy of an ex-roommate and two ex-boyfriends have access (well, so does one more, but I have faith in his goodwill. I'm counting on the apathy of the other two.) to that account. It is in my legal name because the point is to have a social networking tool in my legal name, so Google will find it and potential employers or my high school alumni association can stop looking at that point.

But I would very much prefer not to have it linked easily to this journal. Pictures from the Amazon's birthday party show that I'm over twenty one and have beautiful friends. I'm okay with that being public and connected to my legal name. I would prefer that my boss not read my thoughts on mixed faith marriages or Jungian archetypes or Jensen Ackles playing ball with his friends without a shirt. I didn't actually make that post, but imagine me, grinning, both thumbs up. Yeah, there's my opinion on those photos.

I've adjusted my own settings to not automatically cross-post, but I don't see a way to keep others from doing so accidentally. Is there a way to do so? Or is my only solution to move to Dreamwidth?
