A few SPN rec's

A few spn recs today. Let me know if this needs a cut. Also apologies if this reappears everytime I have to fix a link that didn't work.

Sebe- Reason

Short but hits like a sledge hammer. I know I rec this person fairly often. I think what it is, is that they use Castiel pov a lot so you feel like you’re getting an opov but with the advantage of knowing Sam enough to make assumptions but not enough to know him like Dean would. If that even makes sense. Whatever it is... It really works for me.
I very much like this version of Castiel too. He comes across as a little more human (like the Castiel we are starting to get this season 5) and caring of Sam and Dean but still learning about humanity and compassion. Really like him.
So that little spiel was probably more that the word count of the story.

And There We Wept, I and a Ghostly Other
Daisy S.

Another shortish one, this is a new author. Sam in his desperation to save Dean from his deal starts taking pills to give him that little extra push to keep him going. It doesn’t end well. Lol
What I liked most about this story, was how much anger she conveyed from Dean when they were at the hospital. He barely spoke but you could feel him fuming all the way back to the hotel and then in typical Dean fashion, he explodes but quickly regrets it realising Sam’s fears and the reason why at the same time.

I have two from Sbgrrl. She does have an lj I stumbled across it once before but I am way too lazy to go hunting for it.

The first was after the plunking of the amulet in the trash bin. The episode that very nearly killed the fandom. LOL
I usually stay away from those episode tags because I have found it just makes my sanity last longer. But Sbgrrl always gives the boys a fair shake even when they don’t deserve it.
Also I tend to agree with a lot of her insight.

Also… Tear Down the House- Vignette to Swan Song

This was just beautiful and sad and I don’t know how she can convey so much loss, emptiness and hope at the same time. Like I told her in my review this fits in my little world where Sam is rewarded for his sacrifice and he is free. Free of demons, angels and agendas.
I really love how she closed this story too.

I am becoming quite fond of Sam/ Gabriel
This one has been rec’d around the fandom a fair bit and I am going to join in because it deserves it.
It’s sweet and it makes me smile. It’s also pg13. Nice and tame if you don’t like that sort of thing.

This from dime_for_12 was beautiful and painful and Sam kills me because his fears of losing his family and guilt and everything just is like a big knot of fear and anger that is practically tangible. The series deals with eating disorders and it is so very well done. Not romaticised as the fandom is wont to do with this sort of thing. MOD is the first story btw but I loved the FotMT more but you do need to read the first one.

Disney Magic-The Dope that we smoke
She/he also has an lj…. but lazy here.

Ok I do have a thing for beautiful scene setting and this story has some really well done scenes. Not a lot of wasted words just enough to orientate you and let your head do the rest. I appreciate when people can do that. Also a good story.

The Road, again from debbiel66

Debbie always writes the boys well. Even when they aren’t getting along they have a presence with one another, that comfortable feel that people that have spent their whole lives together do. This story is no different. Even though the boys have been separated for a year and both are dealing with the after effects of winning the apocalypse they are back together and learning to be whole again.
What I like (other than Sam and the whole story) was that she didn’t ignore Ben and Lisa. She gave Dean permission to want them part of his life and still want Sam and that life. She understands what a lot of people don’t...that sometimes people, love, and life, are complicated. And just because you are moving on doesn’t mean you don’t still want something. I really am not making a bit of sense here. LOL I think the simplified version of what I am saying is that Dean spent a year with Lisa and Ben being a family it’s not something that you just forget.

Mousme- Roses in December.
This is a wip but I’m rec’ing it anyway cos it’s frickin amazing and I can’t see it turning sour now.

A car accident while he's at Stanford threatens to change Sam's life forever. An AU featuring Sam, Dean & Jess as they struggle to redefine "normal."

The writing is so nice and clean. The characterization’s are wonderful. I love Sam and I cannot tell you how much I love Jess and Dean in this. I love them together and this is not in a I’m falling in love with your brother/girlfriend story. At least not so far and I don’t see it turning that way. It’s a learning about the Sam that you had for the couple of years/for your whole life, type of story and wonderfully done.
If she threads it back into canon and so far the potential to do so is there, its going to kill me because I have fallen in love with her characters so much that I almost hope she doesn’t thread it back in so I can pretend that they all live happily ever after.

She has a lj under another name because I have seen this story posted but I can’t remember what it is.
