4557: Never Going Back
I'm mad at myself for being impatient with this "model all possible Wearables and get super high JN high score" thing [top of the regular players, still well behind the lead JN staff score, because WITCHCRAFT] and--after using up all my available transfers--STUPIDLY sending my Draik through the Pound D=< ...but, I can't really say I was super attached to it, if I was so willing to make the transfer that way for no good reason [losing the pick-up by, literally, a fraction of a second in switching browser windows]. The name was... okay? And I had already modded it to the best possible customisation [star-themed, to match its name], so it was kinda sorta just taking up a pet slot when Draiks are the fastest to get modeled species on JN. SOMETIMES there are Krawk items that need modeling by the time I get a shot, I think once MAYBE there was a thing for a Draik [that I owned].
So... the quest begins anew! Stagnancy is boring, and anyway, I've been through this before with a Poogle I'd really liked [before Poogles became super cheap to morph], so I'm looking ahead to what suitable replacement I can find--perhaps a really nice one with a really nice name, even if one that's a mere "common" species.

I still have a fairly well-named unconverted Mutant Scorchio [of the three I originally had when Customisation began, which I traded for a Chomby and Krawk, in that order, as I got tired of them], which I'm saving entirely because it's one I will never get again, no matter how much I save and/or trade. Not unless someone is jonesing for this SPECIFIC pet and happens to have one I like even more [which isn't likely, I've "WOMBD"-ed too many times to get attached to any but very specific names [and counting on those pets' plainness to give me that fraction of a second I need to ensure successful Pound transfer when theoretically necessary]]. Yet I'm seriously considering trading it [or my crap-named Krawk!] for an even better named Draik, but I know at some point I'll have enough NP that a day's interest will buy a Baby PB, whereupon simply BUYING an egg/morphing potion will be a reasonable option. I'm just at the point where I can afford a Baby PB every ten days or so, which is like a month's savings at the current going rate...
...actually, the eggs are kinda cheap at "only" ~2m, now that I look, maybe I should get one =o See? This wasn't so bad. I just need to not be STUPID anymore 9_9 [/crisis averted]

...so, there's to be more layoffs, I am told [again, not me--yet], when the senior staff can pin down, "Yes, these people are the ones to cut" [apparently in the past Someone Who Shall Not Be Named cut loose some folks w/o checking, so this time the managers have to verify]--more folks who've been working on projects that got cut/severely reduced.
This was actually discussed in past all-hands meetings, so at least the longer-standing folks should have known this was going to happen... Definitely feel bad for the guy who came on for all of like two weeks =/
I dunno. Even if[/when?] they cut me, I've gone through this dance so much already that it'd just be, "Okay, you got me. I'll get my box and go." At least I definitely feel like Falco and Miss Priss [despite everything about her, otherwise] have become more like actual friends than simply co-workers I get along with--almost but never quite got to that point at my prior jobs*--so I definitely feel like I could use them for worthwhile references, while I constantly feel like everyone else has forgotten me [I somehow noticed by accident that Usurper left Caketown somewhat shortly after I did, which is discouraging as far as any hopes of going back as an employee since she was the main person in charge who understood my contributions].
*HGM excepted, since I was friends with ashuraou before getting contracted
Vaguely relatedly, today was the second time I was asked if I [or anyone at the company] was a notary, which raises the question of whether this would be a worthwhile pursuit to increase my value there. A quick glance suggests maybe...? Especially if they agree to reimburse me the costs of getting licensed or whatever [per hometowner recommendation on FB when I ran it by there], that might cement my usefulness at work. On the other hand, it might be a coupla months of being bored, for a service that would get used all of twice a year =p Granted, casual inquiries aren't a good representation of actual demand, since anyone who reads the phone list can see who is a notary [which is nobody [yet]].
