It's over...

... but not for me.

NaNoWriMo has officially come to an end. :(  I really wanted to hit 60,000 words before the word counter froze, so I made a big push (well, kinda big) and got to 60K just before midnight.  Unfortunately this resulted in sentences like "She headed back to the grocery store yet again to frantically grab another 400 words".   Ah ( Read more... )

Congrats! I'm so glad you feel good about your story! You'll have to let me read it some of these days. ;)

I know I say this every year, but this could actually be the one that I rewrite. This is a book I'd like to read, but I won't be able to if I don't write it! Once I get it sorted out I'll want you to read it. :)

Thanks! Didn't think I was going to make it to 60K, so that was nice. :)

Woot! That's just so amazing that you not only managed to hit the 50,000 word goal but you smashed it to smithereens by 10,000 more words! *standing ovation*

Like I mentioned before, my goal to write Chapter 1 was a roaring success...not. ;) However, I did figure that the 4 pages O_O ;) I wrote came to about 1,700 words, which is 1,700 words more than I've written in years so I'm not going to call it a complete failure! And I'm going to keep going at it, though I have no idea when or if I'll ever finish it. o_O It just feels a little better to be writing again, rather than in permanent writer's limbo. :S

If life is permitting next year, though, I definitely will try the "real" NaNo! Though I'll have to make sure to not schedule anything like a vid at that time. I've figured out that I really can only commit to one creative endeavor at a time, so if I'm going to seriously try to write 50,000 in a month, I can't afford to be wasting any creative energy on anything else! O_O :D ( ... )

Less than a week since NaNo ended, and you're up to 70k. That's great! How's the story coming along?

Thank you! :) I'm trying for 72K tonight.

It's coming along... Steadily, if not quickly. I sat down and mapped out what I have left to write, so I know where I'm going now, more or less.

There's a somewhat important subplot that is entirely absent from this version of the novel because I haven't done enough research to even know what the subplot should be, exactly. :P So that'll be the next item of business once I get to the end of the story.

And I'm debating whether to leave open the possibility of a sappy romantic happy ending. I may have no choice. Because a) I'm sappy and romantic, b) it may actually be a more logical conclusion than what I had planned originally and c) it would give me an opportunity for a twist, and I love twists.

Hmm. I think I just convinced myself...

81k! You are really continuing to truck along at a steady pace. That's so awesome.

83K now! It's kinda hard for me to imagine that you wrote as much as I've written now, all in November.

Steady. Yep, that's me.
