What is my life?

Feb 18, 2014 20:00

I just started watching Pushing Daisies. I may not emerge for a few days (weeks?). Lee Pace! The women! The PI. This show is so freaking clever and quirky. Waaaa. Why did it only have two seasons?

Also, I hear Almost Human is on the verge of being canceled. Boo fucking hoo. Not happy.

Ok, in other news here's what I did today:

Woke up at 6:45. ( Read more... )

I really could not get into Almost Human, (think I've just watched too many cop buddy shows/movies) but having said that, I am watching True Detective, and WOW, it's really really good. (although I wouldn't call them buddies!)
I don't think Pushing Daisies got to our TV, I've heard of it, but don't think I've watched it - something about dead people/death??

I've got two at home today, one has no school, and the other fell down some stairs (at school) and is hobbling around

Saw your tweets on the whole SFWA saga - OMG is all I can say

Hunh. I am 50/50 on the buddy cop shows, but the Blade Runner vibe in Almost Human is dazzling and I love McKenzie Crook in it. His character is delicious.

I never heard of Pushing Daisies until recently even though it aired a couple years ago. I'm watching it on Amazon. It's so quirky and playful and morbid at the same time. The humor in it is right up my alley.

Oh no! I guess it's just a leg/ankle issue and not a concussion type thing. Still. Unexpected company always throws me for a loop.

UGH. The SFWA stuff is just ridiculous. I didn't even tweet *that* much.

I only watched the first episode, I did like McKenzie Crook in it though (even though a bit cliched!)

Its just her ankle - hopefully more bruised than sprained.

Oh well, you and I might be in line to get sued by whoever thinks that reading/retweeting something in a public forum is libel!!

Well, Crook's character (Rudy) actually gets character development throughout the series. I wish the women had as much development, but take what you can get, right?

:::hugs::: to her. You iced it, I'm assuming?

LOL. I doubt we will get sued for libel. But bleh, I'm just so tired of women systematically being shut down.

I *still* miss Pushing Daisies. The Piemaker was beautiful and brilliant.

Oh no! You were a fan of this awesome little show too? It seems to have a cult following. How did I not know about it until now? Ned is awesome. So is Chuck. I'm waiting for all the shoes to drop in this show, ngl. But don't spoil me!

I love Almost Human already way too much and can't imagine that the ratings are that bad. Are they?
It's such a great show. It's well written, they have great dialogue and the actors (especially the main team) have great chemistry. The only thing I can think of that annoys me is that they show the series out of order which makes no sense (like the one episode with the girlfriend which clearly was an early one compared with the episode they showed before that). They shot themselves in the knee with this decision (I really don't understand). So no! No, no, no, no! They're not allowed to cancel it.

*sigh* I wish I had a link to an article, but it doesn't look good. I don't understand why they show eps out of order. It really doesn't make sense. I think it killed Firefly too. Maybe. It seems that all the shows I really like are just too smart for mainstream media to carry:(

EW reports that the exec producer of Pushing Daisies has had conversations about either a movie or a musical based on the show.

Sad about Almost Human. We've been watching close to no TV these past couple of months, but we did watch the first 4 or 5 episodes and liked it.

Ooooh. A movie. Better have Lee Pace in it. And Chi whatshislastname.

*sigh* Smart tv is hard to keep on the air.

Ooh, I keep meaning to send you an email about the jellyfish quilt. Did you track it down? Should I make you another one and actually send it to the right address? What do you want to do?

I was not able to track it down--the new owners say they've never seen it :(

If you're up for making another one, I'd still love to have it. If not, I'm sure you'll do something else that I can get excited about.

Ok. Let me get through the current commission and I'll get to work on more jellies :D
