I'm wiped out. Good thing tomorrow is Friday. DD1 had her tea party this morning which went fine except that two of the three girls didn't show. DD1 had a great time with her one friend, so it was all good. DD2 had a friend over as well, but DD2 just wanted to hang out with DD1 and her friend and DD2's friend was kind of shy and not sticking up for herself very well. I made mini blueberry muffins with my girls before the other girls got here and then I had all the girls make their own pizzas. DD2's friend didn't like any of our food, but she was only here for two hours. My girls loved their pizza. DD1's friend ate just the cheese:) So, people were in my house for four hours and that was quite a lot of stimulation, if quite fun, for me.
I cleaned up a bit and the girls played and then it was time to take DD2 for her four year check up. She weighs 32.8 lbs and is 37.25 in tall. This puts her in the 30th and 10th percentiles, respectively:) She loves her pediatrician and was quite cooperative and very enthusiastic in nodding her head in agreement about what she eats including pancakes, which I don't believe she's actually eaten. LOL. But she is a fine eater, so I didn't have any concerns about that. And she asked to kick the ball which impressed the heck out of him that she remembered especially because he hadn't seen her in quite a while (not like some kids who are there every month). He also thought that nasty illness she had a few weeks back was quite possibly swine flu. I hope it was and that we all got immunity to it!
After we got back from the pediatrician, I fixed a salad (which turned out to be barely edible:() and cooked some mushrooms and warmed up food. After dinner I took a half dozen of the mini muffins across the street to my neighbor who will be 94 on Monday! He only really gets a regular visitor twice a week (someone comes to help him). I think we'll try to make more of an effort to get over there, especially during the weekends since we doesn't see anyone between Thurs and Tues! And man it was hot in there too. I asked him about it and he did have me turn his a/c on.
Came home and put DD2 to bed. I've been cleaning up in the kitchen in a very desultory way. I'm exhausted. I'm looking forward to a low key day tomorrow.
In a newsy kind of note, I have to note that Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson both died today and something like 200 people in Bagdhad have died this week as well! And the SCOTUS ruled that it was illegal to strip search that middle school student.
rip,
another exhausting day,
