Fired
I got fired from my job at LC yesterday. I'd been there for over 5 years, earned 4 president's pins (customer service award), had the highest secret shop scores that the store has ever seen, made sure that contact lens orders were placed properly were correct before calling customers, drove on my own time to other stores to pick up lenses for customers... and they say that my being 5 minutes late 5 times in the past 2 months has had a negative effect on customer service. Maybe it's just that I was making "too much" money (not really too much, but more than more recent hires), and they are desperate enough that they need to cut profit loss wherever they can find it. Maybe my boss didn't like me so much anymore (I am not the only one who's late. what are they going to do, fire everybody? No, just me.)
I expect that in 2 weeks when the patient's charts have piled up so high that they reach the ceiling, and people waiting on frame transfers start the angry calls, as well as the contact lens wearers still waiting on their trial lenses to come in because the order for it wasn't placed, they will regret it.
They have lost more than I have. I wish them luck, because they will need it.
