Something to show for it.

Last week was busy and productive. Tuesday evening I spent in the garage making some jigs for the KDS project, Wednesday I pulled a bunch of weeds that were running amuck behind the garage and behind the hot tub. Thursday I re-arranged the east side of the garage, preparing for a new powder workflow. Friday my steel order came in so I spent the evening cutting much of it in to smaller bits and others just cutting enough off so they fit in the garage.

Saturday morning after a bit of erranding I cut the remaining pieces needed for the project. Then it was time for lunch and mowing the lawn.  Then I got down to the business of cleaning all of the weld joint ends and started welding everything together.  I got about a third of the way done and it was time to head out for an evening of socialization.  Sunday after breakfast I went back out to the garage and welded the wine rack together.

I still need to do the finish welding on the shelves, they are currently just tacked to the legs, although they are plenty strong just like that.  After that I will be powder coating the rack and hopefully having it on consignment at Savoir Faire. I will be also making up a powder color sample set so they can be ordered in other finishes or other configurations.

With this out of my head and out there with the chance of being seen, and not just in my head or garage, I can then move on to trying and practicing some of the other techniques I would like to grow and master. I already have the tools for the techniques I want to do, I just haven't made the time for them yet, and now I can feel better about doing so. There are other ideas in my head that I need to get out and into a physical form.

At this rate I'll be able to work on and make sure the new powder booth can handle the rack sometime after July 12th. I'm booked through then. So I 'm glad I made the time this last week and weekend to do this, so it isn't still nagging at my brain about actually building it.  Now it will just be wanting to finish it and get it out there, as it doesn't mean much until that happens.
