Update:
Well it's summer. I was a bum for the first month off, no job or anything. The internship I was trying to get at Partners in Research fell through and no other local places were looking for interns. So, I crawled back to Big Don and the Brookside pool the other day. Four summers now...can't believe it.
While I was busy not contributing to the workforce I managed to find some time to go see Velvet Revolver (new band with the old Guns N' Roses band with Scott Weiland singing) in Philly. It was at the Electric Factory, a club show. Heather and I left in the early afternoon and got to the club ridiculously early (like 2 o'clock or something). It paid off bc we were close to the front of the line. Later, Seano joined us and, finally, Mike showed up (about half an hour before the doors opened-but he cut in line next to us so he was in the front, too). The show was awesome. Heather, Mike, Seano, and I were right in the front. We were reaching out and touching them as they played. Slash laughed at me at one point bc I was cheering when he wasn't really doing anything, just kinda standing there. They played new stuff and some old GNR and STP. After the show the roadies were cleaning up and one of them tossed the setlist, which had been taped to the stage for the band, out into the crowd and I snagged it. Now I have a setlist, J.D. MacNugent style. We (Heather and I) also got some great pictures. I'll post them one time maybe. While in line outside before the show we saw a sign that said no cameras, so we put them in Seano's car. But, right before the doors opened, the security guy said disposables (which we had) were allowed. So, I made a mad dash to the car to get them before the doors opened. Good thing, too, we were so close that I woulda been mad knowning I could have brought a camera into the club.
In other news, we are getting a puppy this Thur, a little Boston Terrier. I'm so excited. I miss Sandy, and just having a dog in general. The cat can be a poor excuse for a pet sometimes, though she does have some good points. Anyway, I can't wait to just have a dog around to play with and pet and stuff. We're getting him (her?) from a lady out in PA bc it's about half the price breeders are charging in this area. So, we are road-tripping out there on Thursday and picking it up.
