Got back from Jackson today. Had work (pool) after it. I really dislike that job so I try not to think about it much. Jackson was good; went to a wedding. Heather's friend Michelle got hitched to her beau Tym. It was a nice wedding, relatively low budget but still very nice. The ceremony was held outside at around 11 A.M. on Saturday with the reception immediately after in an adjacent hall. After the festivities Heather and I went to Applebee's (chicken quesadillas...mmmm....) then to the beach that evening. We saw some gigondo houses right on the beach. It was crazy. Friday we went to the mall and got Jerzee Freeze- really really good soft ice cream.
During the week last week I worked a decent amount. This summer I've been at the pool mostly, followed by some days at the Boys and Girls Club. The past two weeks I've also been giving tennis lessons. I haven't really played tennis in so long bc of work and school and such. I still really like it and want to play more (feeding balls to little kiddies so they can swing their rackets blindy doesn't really cut it). I was thinking the other day that all of my jobs revolve around children and the ironic thing is that they don't really do much for me. I mean, I don't hate kids or anything, but I don't feel like I have a deep inner calling to work with kids. I think I do a decent job or working with them though; I refrain from punching them and everything when they're annoying me, so that's good.
Tuesday night Awad and I went to Cole's to gather around the chimneya (sp?). Mary Beth Weiss and Alison Evangelista were there but left shortly after Awad and I arrived due to curfew restrictions. After that, we just hung out and caught up bc we hadn't spent much time together lately; not anyone's fault...just busy.
Wednesday was Awad's turn to fire up the chimneya. So Cole and I went over to his house at night. We through the grill attachment on top of it and cooked the best chicken I've had in a looong time. It was so juicy and tender, and the wood gave it an awesome flavor. We were all a little leary at first, considering we didn't season it and weren't even sure we'd be able to cook it all the way through. But, we did and it was amazing. Next time we're making a day out of it and cooking even more food-shrimp, burgers, chicken...I can't wait.
This week is back to the Boys and Girls Club for Tuesday and Tursday, and continued work at the pool on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. I prefer the Club to the pool because, even though it's a 10 hour day as opposed to 5, I make more money (hourly and obviously total) and I'm done by dinner time. Next year I think I'll look for an internship first and if I don't find anything I'll try to get on the Boys and Girls Club's schedule as a full-timer.
That's about it for now.
