Museums and such

Considering it's Wednesday at 1am Mountain time, only about 3.5 days... (see previous post) I had no idea now fitting the song that I am currently listening to is to this and the previous post :). I chose it at random, but it has to be a sign.

The past couple days I've ran some mundane errands, but nothing too exciting. A trip to CostCo which is always fun. Today my parents and I went to Greasewood Flats for a burger for lunch. It is a great place that has burgers, hot dogs, brats, etc. It's kind of a biker joint. The decor is all western themed, cowboy type of stuff. They have large trash barrels burning to keep people warm at night (the desert does get cold at night), large wooden carts where you can throw your bottles and cans. The funniest part is that the land this place is on (large open desert lot) is probably worth a fortune. Directly across the street is the Four Seasons Hotel, and all around the restaurant sit multi-million dollar homes. The clientèle is everyone on up to the people getting out of their BMW's with furs.

Next drove down to the Heard Museum in downtown Phoenix. It's a privately held museum of the various Indian tribes in Arizona. They had exhibits of the various tribes and their locations in AZ, jewelery, and other stuff. One of the most interesting (and sad) exhibits depicted the time when the indian children were shipped off to White boarding schools to basically be "Americanized." Their hair was cut short, they were given American names and permitted only to speak in English, etc. Sad times, but the exhibit was well done. Then we got a call that someone wanted to show our house in 30 minutes (while we were 40 mins away), so rushed home to take care of that. We just dropped the price of the house, so hopefully someone will make an offer.

On a completely random other note that I'm sure you're all super interested to know, my blood pressure has been high.. it was 145/74 the last time I checked.. normal is below 120/80. I'll keep an eye on it.. there are drugs that can lower it, so that's an option. It has never been high, so it makes me wonder what is up.
