It's been an interesting day so far! First of all, my friend Sandy, got the results of the latest scan on her lungs and the nodule has NOT grown after all as suspected. The first scan that showed growth had a shadow on the picture or was just hard to read correctly, which is why the dr. ordered another scan before getting too excited over it all. He says it looks much the same as it did a year ago and probably won't grow if it in indeed from a prior illness. But she does have to go again in 6 months so they can keep an eye on it. So that news was indeed good news!!!!!!! Yippee!
Next of all that is interesting is the TV coverage of the burial services for Pres. Ford here in Grand Rapids. We have been watching the news about it of course for several days now, but I hadn't gotten too overly excited about it all until this afternoon when all the action actually came to Grand Rapids! I have been glued to the TV all afternoon, getting very emotional at watching it all happen only a few miles from where we live. It is quite an amazing event....a once in a life time occasion to happen in one's home town on streets that I know and in places I recognize on the TV! All the pomp and ceremony that goes along with it is impressive with any Presidential activity, but this one seems very personal to all us natives. It also brings back memories of prior years when I took my boys to see Ford arrive at the airport or be at the festivities when his museum was dedicated. I wiggled here at home thinking I should get in my van and get right down there in the downtown to see it all happen in person, (even though the viewing was better at home on the TV.) I would like to see Pres. Carter in person also. Yes, I do like watching well known persons! We have been to the Ford Museum many times seeing some wonderful temporary exhibits there as well as enjoying Ford's exhibits. We enjoy visiting other Presidential homes and museums as well. Now we have something new to go see....Ford's burial site.
