It's been an interesting day so far! First of all, my friend Sandy, got the results of the latest scan on her lungs and the nodule has NOT grown after all as suspected. The first scan that showed growth had a shadow on the picture or was just hard to read correctly, which is why the dr. ordered another scan before getting too excited over it all ( Read more... )

Funny thing, Manolo´s MRI that showed the renal artery blockage also had a shadow that gave a false image.I´m so glad to hear about Sandy´s good results!

I would have gone downtown with you!

Where has Ford been buried?

He is being buried in a mauseleum right outside his museum on the Grand River! We'll have to go see it next summer. Wish you were here now to view all this and talk about it all with me.

The actual burial is just taking place today after all the public viewing and private ceremonies. It is the last thing that happens in all the acvitites nationally and locally. It is a private ceremony at the museum which is coming up soon, after the church service, and afer the flyby and cannon salute.

I too would have gone with you ... I was wondering how far this was from your home .... I cried when they played the Michigan Fight Song at the airport ... I thought it was very fitting for that man... and they played it at THE RIGHT TIME. I'm glad they didn't play it in Washington. Do you know if it was the MICHIGAN band playing? Just wondering.

I sent him a letter when he was president ... and I got a response from his secretary ... hehehehhe .... I was so proud of that !!!

P.S. One of my older friends here in Sarance gave, along with other women, a tea for
Ford when he was running for office in his early years. She was telling me about it this morning....how he was so comfortable in her house and with everyone and so appreciative to them. That's a memory! A President(in the future) in your house!!!!

I've been listening to the news all day and thought of you guys. I'm so ignorant I had no idea the Ford museum was in Grand Rapids. Definitely close enough for a field trip, eh? Ford was the first president I paid much attention to; I was almostold enough to vote during his term, I suppose that's why I started paying attention to public servants and what they were about.

Today when they were talking about what a talented athlete Ford had been, this thought wandered into my head....Was young, buff Ford the model for Sparty?

A field trip to the Ford Museum is definitely in order. It's not the most exciting museum to see, although I hear they have some new exhibits, but if one likes history, then of course it is must. Now with his burial place too, it may become a more popular place to visit. I have mostly liked the temporary exhibits they bring in. There have been some really nice ones. An overnighter here in Saranac could be arranged at any time, if needed! Although you can do it in a day trip easily too. We like going to any Presidential sites. Have you gone to the new Lincoln Museum in Springfield, IL? That is an absolute must also. The one in Fort Wayne is on my list now. We keep passing it on the way to Bloomington, but haven't stopped yet.

He was the only Republican I've ever voted for.

Well, if one had to vote for a Republican, he was the one to do it for!!! I think he was one of the few honest, uncorruptible, moral politicians we have ever had.
