The last five days have been very nice, pushing outstanding... Thursday was close to 70. The bottom fell out of the thermometer yesterday.  At 5:30pm it was 68deg F.  by 6:40pm it was 54deg F. at 1030pm it was 44deg F.  It's now snowing nicely... The streets and sidewalks are still clear, but the grass, gardens, etc are not.

What a grand New Year's party series...  Starting at Michaele's and Rogers... and ending at an extended brunch/dinner/games party at Guy and Becca's.  More food and friends and fun than I've had in a looong time.  Great parties, good food, and the chance to see our friends in OH for an extended time.  We ate, drank, talked, and such forever...  ( Read more... )

Chicago woke up to a winter wonderland! Oak Park got about 8".  It's very nice snow... should pack well, but not too heavy to be a heart attack special snowstorm.  This has been the pattern the last couple of years... lots of snow in December,  and not too much after. I'm really hoping this isn't going to be a pattern.. When I got up this AM the weathermen said 2'"-4". By noon it was 4"-6". By 6pm it was 6"-8". The 10pm news said 8"-10".  We're getting a bunch.  I'ts GREAT packing snow, however. I see some snowmen in our future. And, 'someone' (who just moved here from MN) wanted snow!  Well, she dragged it down ( Read more... )
