Yesterday afternoon and evening, Sydney was hit by severely freaky thunderstorms, hail, damaging winds and flashflooding - with warnings that it's likely to continue later today.

The Bureau of Meteorology says the storms are being fed by a northeasterly stream of moist *snigger* air from the Tasman Sea, which makes the atmosphere less stable.

Very lucky to have stunning views from my desk in North Sydney. Often take it for granted but last night dusk was a real breath-taker, not in the furry-frantic-rip-your-clothes-off-kind-of-way, just the normal "Aww ain't that bewdiful" way.
