A quick note to let y'all know that I am, indeed, alive...
Teensy, weensy summary about my glorius summer.
- went kinda-immediately back to retail hell with one tiny glich - they no longer had the hours to keep me in hardlines (pets, auto, sports, hardware, & toys). I got hijacked by the Garden center and then hijacked again by the gas station. I can now proudly say that I know the out the door prices of Newport, Marlboro, Monarch, Misty, Virginia Slims, Basics, and Kools. And I don't even smoke.
- went next to no where save Frankenmuth with Mom & Joelle and up to Harrison for an extended family canoe trip (which included our canoe tipping, my cousin Mike's beer flying into the river after we hit another tree, my cousin Becky running face first into another tree, her husband Dave drunk-dialing everyone and their brother, and lots and lots of drinking - except for me (I had like two drinks the first night and one and a half the second because I threw up (barely a mouthful)) because I was popping tylenol extra strength like they were tic tacs because....
- I had to get two teeth pulled in my upper right side (teeth 1 & 2 if you really want to know). Ouch with a side of -ie
- I saw most of the big summer Blockbusters (Transformers, OotP, Spidey-3, Die Hard, and Superbad (with my mother and older sisters nonetheless - Mom hated it with a fiery passion but we were trying to cheer up Julie because ...
- My 13 & 12 year old nieces have lost their damn minds. Literally in one case - both have been caught smoking, making out with guys at least 15yr & up (22 allegedly) and my nephew is a mouthy little shit.
- Read DH - cried my fricken eyes out. Also managed to read all of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunters series (I'm reading the Dream Hunter and already have Devil May Cry waiting patiently for me to finish it.) This is the first summer in about five (if not more) years where I've read so few books. Seriously. Joelle has read more books than me this summer - and it almost always takes her six months to a year to read most of her books (Mitch Albom's books being the one exception to the rule.)
- And maybe I haven't read so much because all of the Chinese/Korean/Japanese dramas I've been absorbing on-line like a fiend. Hmmm, that could be why *eyeroll*
- which I guess is kinda good seeing as our TV in the front room flatlined on us last week. Literally, all you could see in the center of our tv was a white line.
- And while we were cleaning out the basement for big trash pick up (the poor tv's out on the lawn as I type) my mom dropped an old tool/nail/screw case of my dad's and found a Nazi/Fascist coin from 1937 (seriously it's got the eagle and the weird nazi symbol and says something Reich 1937 (I'm assuming the something in front of it means Third). It could have been my great-Grandmother Messana's. She still had family over in Sicily back then. Or my dad could have found it and said 'ooh, shiny' much like I do all the time.
- I went to a Tigers game for my sisters school (8-21 - all those orange shirts in the crowd? I was one of them) which we won 2-1.
In the ficness of my life - Interoffice Stereotypes (my Millicent/Fred AU OotP) has gotten *le gasp* THREE Chapter updates in the last two months (all of which are up at both tthfanfic.com and fanfiction.net under the Jmaria penname). Sarmatian Ladies has two more chapters before the conclusion, but the muses won't let me work on it. Even though that sounds like a copout, I know what's going to happen in the final two chapters - hell, that's been planned out almost since the beginning of the story - but every time I start to work on it, the scenes flow out too choppily. Chapter seventeen is halfway done (about two and a half pages - six pages is the minimum amount of pages I require of myself for each chapter and they often go over six). Also, planning on working on The Will of Love (Sev&Wes brother fic) and On Our Own (Ghostbuster/Peter is Faith's dad drabble series.) FfA fanmix three was completed and Support Structures (Faith is Warren Peace's half sister fic) was updated. Um, oh, new FfA fanmix four was started (god help me, I made 5 more random mix cd's)
I've also gotten the idea for new original fiction (a feat that hasn't been accomplished in almost two years - talk about a dry spell). I have two plot ideas for two different stories. I might post them here, but most of the response just comes from the fanfic.
