Well since it's been almost six months since my last post, I guess it is suitable to do an update. Executive summary:

1. Spring semester was good.
2. Summer is great so far.

Well! not bad for a race I only heard about on Friday (thanks othercriteria, I wish you'd been here to do the race rather than having your present misadventures) and didn't register for till this morning. I wanted to do the 7.5 but as I mostly expected, that was closed by the time I got there, but I was still able to get into the 5K. Weather absolutely perfect ( Read more... )

1. I really like the Hancock Tower and the Prudential in their context. This is sort of surprising, given my usual distaste for incredibly monotonous buildings, as the HT is and the Pru also pretty much is. It was definitely my most difficult marathon yet in the aggregate - none of the extreme duress of the last few miles of my first New Jersey Marathon, but the bulk of this was very slow and tedious. This afternoon/evening after work I successfully completed a 21.58-mile run, having not done a long run over the weekend, although on Saturday I did walk to Belmont to see the Bethans, 3.77 miles each way, after a 4-mile run earlier in the day.
