have you read fairefolkbard 's books? she's got two based out at the MN ren faire. i usually try to pick one or the other up round about mid winter to get that festival fix... winter makes me miss faire more... *shrug*
i used to read alot more when i was working at the chanhassen... sitting in the spot booth gave me alot of down time... but unfortunately i developed the habit of -only- reading while i was in the spot booth, so when i quit working there, i had a hard time reading because each time i pick up a book, i felt i should be focused on the next spot cue.
also, when i was moving so much, the books were regrettably dispensable. i ended up selling quite a few boxes of books to fund and lighten the cross country moves. i had a ton of series books, so i kept the first of each series and sold the rest... hopefully, i'll rebuild when i actually have a library to keep them all in.
Me like-a da books!jazmyn333January 17 2008, 01:43:31 UTC
I like half priced books, because you can usually find books at a good price, and in good condition. -Just something to think about when you decide to rebuild your collection.
What are the names of the two books? I will have to check them out. Has she written about specific people in her books? I'm just curious if I would recognize people.

the first is called "from the ashes" and the second is "into the storm"... both can be investigated at (faire-folk dot com)... the third is still in process but i -think- will be called "toward the fates"
and you'd totally recognize people... lots of 'em... i'm in it *cheezy grin*. the stories are focused on main characters that are "fictional" but are based on real rennies. and in the background are the people and places of our beloved faire with the names mostly tweaked to protect the "innocent"... oh, and of course magick and the fae are also main characters.
the first has a dual story format and the second is all faire, but both are almost like a chronicle based on actual faire mischief... it's funny, you're always saying... "yup, saw that, helped with that, heard about that..." it's a pretty, pretty thing.
