Stolen from the Phoxxy Philipino. HA, I'm TEN! YOU SUCK!
So I'll start to recap a somewhat bizarre week. What has heppened, hmmm. Hit up the gym Tuesday morning with Aisha, and I think it was a mistake to push myself too hard on the treadmill/weights since I think I was sorta sick resulting from that. That night had APA first general, where turnout was low, but thanks so much to Eric, Kihong, Tim, and Ying for coming out!
Erm, Wednesday was really busy as I had class from 11-2, tried out an internship DeCal from 5-7, went to a CKS meeting from 7-8.45, and then an APA Social Mixer from 8.45-11.00. Whew. Got a really bad stomachache from I think a combination of a really unhealthy dinner followed by pizza at the social mixer. Then stayed up late to finish this psych thing.
Thursday, found out Patrici is NOT in my section, and I also don't like my section. The GSI is very friendly (and decent-looking, with a cute name: Kit), but the people in the class just sent out that 'here because i have to be not because i want to' vibe. And I mean, sure, we don't like section, but don't have it written all over your faces. Errrm, at night, a whole bunch of LC folk flew up to visit Berkeley. Katie, Cara, Talene (sp?), and Sophia. Sophia's bf, Julius (who's a soph here) decides to take 'em out to this frat, so Josh and I go along. Was a BIG mistake, I thought, since these girls except Sophia apparently (I found out later) have never really drank before, and they took a shot or two each. Ergh. One girl just could not handle two and get REALLY drunk off of that and started to throw up. I felt horrible, but I was somewhat disappointed that neither Julius, Josh, or the other girls seemed to feel responsible for this situation happening, even though I did. Not to bash on those other people at all, but wouldn't you feel somewhat responsible if that happened? Perhaps it's just my traditional views, but I feel that there is no way you should let a friend, even a person you just met who is a friend of a friend, get THAT wasted.
Today, woke up and just had this MAJOR sinus congestion. I felt like a baseball was stuck behind my nose in my brain. Tried to work that out, couldn't, went to class all messed up, came back quickly, fooled around a little, then went to Rasputin's and picked up a CD. This is my new regimen: I will pick a cheap CD I would like each week to build up my collection. Today: U2: The Unforgettable Fire for $6 and change. Will review later, a la Erika the Blimp (oh wait, am I not allowed to say that? better check if my comment has been responded too. ahh, later). Then I watched the Motorcycle Diaries, which is a movie in Spanish about a trip that Alberto Granados and Ernesto Guevara take across South America and their experiences. Ernesto Guevara sound familiar to anyone? How about Che? Haha. Umm, quite a difficult movie to review, actually. I would recommend it, but not as a fun movie. It WAS fun with a lot of comedic relief from the actor who played Alberto, but the movie was more about the beginnings of the man who would later spur on a pan-South American revolution and how the ideas began in his head. Paced somewhat oddly, was quite ridiculous at others, and the drama seemed a little forced at times. But again, I would definitely recommend watching it.
Well, my sinus congestion is down to about a golf ball now. Guess I'll turn in, and hopefully, my amazing Superman-like body will heal itself over the night so I can be ready for a weekend full of catchup work and APA business.
(I know, I just KNOW I'm gonna mess up this quote, so just shut up, ok?) "This is not a tale of heroic feats. This is only a tale of two people's lives who's travels paralleled for a while."
