Got new issue of Q - it had interviews with John Lydon, Tim Burgess and The Cult and an interesting article on the impact of file sharing/free music plus a feature on unusual merchandise (Rasputina used to do cello string necklaces and Melora used to do a perfume called Rancid Brain Oil and I know Emilie Autumn also used to make stuff & sell it on her website) - they did mention the Rammstein dildos plus they had the Kylie doll - I could have done a whole thing on dolls of musicians/pop stars, I would have thought having a Joan Jett Barbie was more unusual than a Kylie doll as a lot of pop stars end up being turned into dolls.
They also mentioned Brian Jonestown Massacre have a new album out. I loved the documentary about them & Dandy Warhols (DiG - I still say it's one of the best music documentaries). I was probably one of the few people who'd actually heard of them/had a BJM album before that came out. I love Joel in that film (BJM's percussionist) & I actually felt sorry for Anton even tho he is crazy/difficult - the Dandy Warhols song Not if you were the last Junkie on Earth was actually written about Anton's heroin habit and I'm not surprised he was pissed off at it tho' I do love that song. DiG is definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it already & like music/documentaries.

Also meant to say I was left distinctly unimpressed with Julian Fellowes Titanic. I preferred Saving the Titanic because I felt like concentrating on the crew was at least trying to do something different. Plus JF seemed to think that the death of 1,500 + people wasn't suitably dramatic enough and we had to have several sets of doomed lovers running about the place.
