Update

I got the new issue of Bitch which was great (although I don't know if I'll resubscribe, I might just have to try and get it at Borders, their mailorder works out at over £9 an issue which is kind of pricey, much as I love the mag). They had some good articles on reality TV and modern masculinity plus a little piece on Twilight merchandise and a Bettie Page tribute (I wish more magazines had done tributes to her). They also mentioned that DC comics have closed their Minx label which was aimed at female readers --- they did a couple of titles I really want to read, one was called The P.L.A.I.N Janes about a group of girls all called Jane who become art terrorists. They also had reviews of Femmes of Power and The Porning of America which made some good points that I did agree with. In particular I was a bit disappointed with The Porning of America, it's arguments didn't really seem to go anywhere and were a bit disparate.
Also managed to get a copy of David Sedaris' book, Me Talk Pretty One Day, which is kind of a cross between his memoirs and a collection of essays. Quite liked it and I love the title.
I've just finished watching Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead. I'd forgotten what a great movie that is --- great cast incl. Christopher Lloyd, Steve Buscemi, Christopher Walken and Fairuza Balk but I absolutely love Andy Garcia in it.

book review, films, bettie page, bitch magazine
