I got the new issue of iD. It had a couple of good interviews with Yoko Ono and Marianne Faithfull plus a feature on people with cool tattoos incl. some foxy boys like Nick Cave's son, Jethro, who's now working as a male model. I've just finished re-reading Marianne Faithfull's autobiography --- it's a great read, a lot better written than most other books of that type. Although it covers her life/career up to the 80s, it's the stuff about the 60s that really comes alive. Not necessarily just the fact she was Mick Jagger's girlfriend but as a portrait of that whole scene/time. I still maintain there was a darker side to the 60s that often gets overlooked. (Oh and apparently Cristina who is one of my fave singers had an affair with Marianne's 2nd husband and that's one of the reasons why they got divorced. Naughty Cristina!).
Also delighted to hear one of my favourite bands are due to release their debut CD. Bourgeois and Maurice are a double act doing this amazing twisted cabaret, very dramatic and sarcastic. If you've ever heard any Kiki & Herb they're a bit like that. They are undoubtedly stars in the making. Go to their MySpace to hear some songs, one of my favourites is their song about self harm Little Pins.
