We finally got the rat just now. Hopefully it didn't have any friends.

I think I had blogged before that I've been remodeling the guest bedroom over the past couple months. Got the carpet ripped out and taken to the dump, along with the crappy doors. Painted the ceiling. Retextured the walls to have a knockdown texture, primed, painted a light neutral green. Got the crown molding hung today with Cliff's help, before ( Read more... )

So nothing got recorded last night. However, I did hear something around 1-2am. And some of the bait (peanuts) are gone. I'm thinking something the size of a squirrel should have triggered the motion sensor. I added more lights and tightened up the shot to hopefully help out the motion sensor tonight. Whee...

Last night the trap I set in the attic got tripped for the second time with nothing in it. We heard it, and if it's not a squirrel, I don't know what it is. It sounds too big to be a mouse. Maybe the sound is being amplified somehow ( Read more... )

OK, so I had set the squirrel trap yesterday, with some peanut butter and peanuts. Tonight I checked it, and the thing was licked spotless. LOL ( Read more... )

The trap is set. It will probably go off in the middle of the night and freak me out. But with my luck, the squirrel will take the bait and not trigger the trap.

Whee... we just spent big bucks on new appliances tonight. Of course, they will sit in their boxes for awhile. We would have waited, but Lowe's was clearing out last year's GE Profile models.

Against my better judgement, we decided to take down the crappy wallpaper in our kitchen. We wanted to remodel it, but that was going to be a couple years off. So we were just going to paint and change some hardware. Nothing is ever easy in this house though. Pulling off the thick vinyl wallpaper exposed some termite damage ( Read more... )

cliffdfw called to ask me to wash his work clothes for him. Only problem is the washer was stopped with water in it when I went back and checked on it. Turns out something strange has happened to the circuit it is on. Strangely enough, it is the same circuit Verizon installed the battery backup on, and the fios connection went down at the same time.
