Friday: Nick,Brandon,Greg,Kevin W, and I all went to see In Flames. Well actually we just went to see Devil Driver, but surprisingly I really liked Zao and In Flames as well. There was another band with them called "Trivium" that I wasn't really into. Though it was really cool of them to pay respect, and tell every single motherfucker in there to do the same, to Dimebag Darrell of Pantera. I was all set with the beer soaked Pantera hoodie, singing to Walk at the tip top of my lungs. A tear jerker for sure. At the time I was in line to meet Devil Driver again. This sounds so teeny bopper but..I don't care. I shook Dez's hand (lead singer for those who don't know...used to be lead for Coal Chamber.) and told him something along the lines of "You all kicked ass...best mosh pit all night", at which point he said "I know, darlin'" and then he took my hand in both of his and bowwed his head to me. I couldn't help but bow back. The drummer,John, is pretty cool too. Well...I mean of course they all are, but those two talk more, I guess. Nevermind.
We ran into this dude that we met at another concert earlier in the summer. Just kinda bumped into him in the mosh pit. Crazy. Actually we met a lot of cool new people there. Funny how much of an impact total strangers can make. OH MAN, did Dez give it to those hardcore kids!!! Basically the jist was: Fuck that ninja shit, I wanna see a huge circle pit. So, of course, the crowd obeyed. I got in there and just started shoving motherfuckers. (Once again, for those who don't know: Motherfuckers is a term used very loosely at Metal concerts. It's not always a bad thing...actually, I think smelly cockwad could probably be used loosely as well. Lotsa mindless name calling, but not usually with the intent to insult. There.) I was by the pit the whole time, except during Trivium, because they HAD NO PIT. Probably one of the reasons I wasn't so all about them. So, basically, if you weren't in the pit, you're a bitch. And getting pushed in once by accident and fighting your way out...doesn't count either! :-D So, we got to see who was in the pit and who wasn't. Usually the same group of people and some extras...I could pick out the people I knew in there easily, believe it or not.
We lost Brandon for a little while actually, and I found him...in the pit! I was outside of it at the time so I just grabbed and pulled him over by us. So basically the pit was brutal, I got to wear 4 dollar cups of beer, and somehow managed to get a really light colored shiner...aka black eye. Apparently I got elbowed in the face, but I don't recall that. If I didn't see it happening to me, or feel it, I definitely won't remember. So that's the guys story, not mine. I just bare the marks. Why would one want to be subjected to such activities. Hell if I know, I just like it! Some asswipe shoved Nick, and they went back and forth for a little in the pit after that. However when that guy got back towards me , wanting to take a break, I took a running start and shoved his ass into the pit again. Right when it started getting brutal again too!
Funny story, Brandon, Nick, and I were walking up the stairs to meet Devil Driver. I reach my hand back to grab Nicks, and he grabs my hand, as far as I know. Turns out it's this kid, all bloody and bruised, he could hardly walk...and I was holding his hand, helping him up the stairs unknowingly. He was greatful, and it was just a funny surprise. I was just happy the guy who grabbed my hand needed help and wasn't just being weird.
I guess that's all I really have to say about it. I mean, aside from a lot of other trivial little things that no one cares about. Ummm and I'll leave you all with my philosophy : You may not agree with the way I do things, but life is far to short for me to things your way. So fuck you. :-)
Take care everyone!
