2010 traffic death toll at 4,863, down for 10th straight year
The road traffic death toll in Japan during 2010 was 4,863, down 51, or 1 percent, from the previous year and marking the 10th straight year of decline, the National Police Agency said Sunday.

Akiko Wada suffers minor injuries in car accident
Singer Akiko Wada (60) was involved in a car accident this afternoon, while on her way to the rehearsal for NHK's Kouhaku Uta Gassen. She appears to have suffered minor injuries, which became apparent during the rehearsal.
