The iTunes Japan Store has announced its "iTunes Rewind" 2010 rankings, which includes lists of the Top 100 sellers in singles and albums for the year. In the singles ranking, Kaela Kimura's 2009 song "Butterfly" was #1. The song got a strong start in 2010 after her performance at last year's Kohaku Uta Gassen, and it regained momentum halfway through the year when she and actor Eita announced their engagement.

Superfly's "Tamashii Revolution" ranked #2, thanks to a tie-in with the World Cup. AKB48 was #3 with "Ponytail to Chou-chou," though they also had five other songs in the Top 100: "Heavy Rotation" (#5), "Beginner" (#40), "River" (#63), "Oogoe Diamond" (#69), and "Sakura no Shiori" (#96). Kazuyoshi Saito's "Zutto Suki Datta" ranked #4.

The complete top 100 list is available here:http://www.barks.jp/news/?id=1000066303&p=1, as well as on iTunes.

In the albums ranking, Lady Gaga's "The Fame Monster" was the top seller, followed by the classical compilation "The Classics 70" and another Lady Gaga album, "The Remix." FUNKY MONKEY BABYS' best album was #4, the highest for a Japanese artist. The seasonal-themed project Atelier Bossa Conscious rounded out the Top 5 list.
