At the end of November, it was revealed that actor Yusuke Iseya (34) had finished filming his sophomore directorial effort, "Seiji ~Riku no Uo~." The movie's cast was unveiled on Friday, with Hidetoshi Nishijima (39) and Mirai Moriyama (26) playing the leads.
The story is based on a bestselling novel by author Tomoki Tsujiuchi. Moriyama has been cast as the narrative character, a 4th-year university student. Having already lined up a job for after graduation, he spends his last summer vacation taking a trip on his bicycle. Along the way, he comes across a drive-in called "HOUSE475," run by a clumsy but pure man named Seiji (Nishijima). He starts helping out at the drive-in, and through Seiji's influence, he begins rethinking his own life.
The drive-in's owner is being played by actress Nae Yuki, and three of the drive-in's regular customers will be played by Hirofumi Arai, Kenichi Takito, and Kiyohiko Shibukawa. Masahiko Tsugawa has been given a part as an elderly blind man.
"Seiji" will open in theaters in 2011.
