Projects are trying to eat me alive. One is to clear out the pantry by using the contents. A survey indicated that a significant portion of the canned goods are for a great mucking pot of chili. Most handily beef was on sale this week as well. As it looks like we are on the cusp of very hot weather, I decided it was now or fall for this job. So all morning and a chunk of the afternoon as been occupied by grinding and browning beef, mixing the rest of the ingredients, simmering, then progressive adjustment of flavorings since I may use 2 Alarm Chili as a starting point, the volume I make means I'm on my own for the most part. The way I make it the poor stuff simmers forever. The ice bags for fast cooling are processing through. Normally I freeze it in plastic containers like take out soup, but this time I wanted to be able to boil and eat a serving. The seal-a-meal I knew I had somewhere is now considered vintage (got it from my Mom). Rorik is out obtaining a new one and then we will continue. A portion has been put aside so that G#2 can doctor it to his content when he gets home.

The Embroidery Project has recommenced as my fingers have been smoothed. I may need to find/order some #10 sharps needles to work with as 2 strands of the silk 'pops' as it goes through the fabric when I use a #11. I also have a supply of #12s that I can use when I get to the faces and hands and am probably using 1/2 strands to have the fineness for some detail. I may also have to start padding my fingers as the back ends of those needles are pointy! I have little stick on pads but I want to really identify the needed locations first.
