hugest tv-related post ever and stuff

May 18, 2012 23:53

1) Hi. I'm still sorting through JIB pictures and RL is being a piece of boring/stressing work, but I swear con reports and con pictures are coming sometime this weekend. My lack of motivation over university stuff (seriously, the only thing that hasn't bored me to pieces in class in the last month was watching A Dangerous Method in my sorta useless English class. And I had seen it already, but hey, I never refuse) is rapidly becoming lack of motivation over anything more substantial than catching up with tv or reading, which I'm not liking at all. Meh. Then again I really don't care about anything this semester.

2) Also, I caught up with tv shows and shit, so have some more or less detailed reaction posts here.

a) I've watched from episode seventeen to the finale straight and weeeelll okay I like most, I'm perplexed about other stuff. The finale and the second to last episodes felt somewhat what the fuck - I mean Kono was dating the Yakuza guy? Since when? O__O and the whole thing with Chin freeing Delano made no sense whatsoever from a technical point of view. Also UGH CLIFFHANGER. Shelbourne being Steve's mom is somewhat a LOT interesting, but I have to see how it's gonna plan out. My favorite eps out of the last bunch were probably the one with the old detective (SCOTT CAAN!!) and the Steve-less one with the serial killer, because more Max is always awesome and I loved that he had a prominent part in that. I'd have loved the one with Steve's birthday but that remark where they said Hawaii didn't have the death penalty as if it was a bad thing promptly pissed me off like a few things in this show have. ://// I mean I don't watch for the plot but seriously? Sigh. Other than that the NCIS LA crossover was entertaining and lol Rob Benedict being the *bad guy* using a *bycicle* in a chase was the worst casting ever - like, THAT FACE FOR THE BAD GUY COME ON - but it still was pretty enjoyable.

Other than that the plot just mostly confuses me because it seems like they spring stuff on us without hints before and then handwave it when it doesn't work but whatever, as stated, I never watched this for the plot. That said, they definitely have better eps mid-late season than in the ending stretch. Also Terry O' Quinn disappearing into thin air when Steve like looked at him, then at the door and then behind him was hilarious. Joe White is obviously still the smoke monster.....

b) ....... WHAT THE FUCK is generally the thought, though in the good way. Also: the actress playing Eloise in Lost obviously likes to play people that piss me the fuck off. UGH IDIOT HANDS OFF ALARIIICCCC ;___________;

- THAT SAID: OH MY GOD RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC ;__________________________________; can I just have a general weepfest along with the fact that HE DIED BOTH TIMES WITH DAMON TWO CENTIMETERS FROM HIM? I MEAN UGH THE FIRST ONE WAS BAD ENOUGH WHEN HE TOLD DAMON THAT OBVIOUSLY HE HAD TO BE DYING FOR DAMON TO APOLOGIZE TO HIM BUT OH MY GOD DAMON'S FACE WHEN EVILRIC DIED AND HE CLUTCHED AT HIS BODY AND HE WAS CALLING HIM 'RIC' AND OH MY PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME ALARIC SHOWS UP TO DAMON EVEN IF HE'S A GHOST OKAY. Other than of course they had to kill my second-favorite now Damon has lost his bff not to mention the only healthy-ish relationship he ever had in his life and and and and and ;___________________; they hate me.

- Elena being a vampire: I had read the books' summary so I knew it was coming but OMG O__O

- TYLEEERRRR ;___; also damn will I ever get rid of Klaus?

- Bonnie you're still the most badass. Ilu whatever you do. You're totally right at being as pissed as you are. End of story.

- Okay, uuuuh, sorry Damon, REALLY sorry, but my Elena/Stefan inner shipper died at what went down. Oh my god. MY SHIP. ;____; I don't even know how to deal with it. Sorry. I just - they're really just - I can't. Also the incident and she told him to save Matt the same way her dad told him to save her ohmygod.

- Okay, Matt is obviously the only human one left. I just hope it means he sticks around because since they decided he had a story he was pretty fucking awesome.

- The Caroline/Tyler thing where they couldn't run together just killed me ;____; ugh. And Evilric was painful to watch. Just. Fuck you Esther, fuck youuuuu.

- Elijah, on the other side, remains the best. <33333

- In conclusion: I LOVE THIS IDIOTIC SHOW OKAY. And I also hate it because omg my otp ;____; but I'm totally read for next season. Which is gonna be fun.

- Also: the whole thing with Elena telling Damon that if only she had met him first she might have fallen for him made me die because there's exactly the same line in a Dark Tower book. Oops. Also ouuuch she DID met Damon first. Oops.

In conclusion: I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE REST THO DAMN ALARIIICCCC.

c) Okay, 7x22 first:

- More Crowley = always good, even if they should know better than to trust him like that *facepalm*

- I still can't take Dick seriously. The actor looks too much like Christian Bale still, I can't.

- The alpha vamp is coming back next season? Niiice. The thing with the kids was creepy as fuck though. ://

- OUCH, BOBBY, OUCH. POSSESSION ISN'T GOOD. I have such a bad feeling about it, such a bad feeling. Anyway, for a pre-finale episode it was good but I'd have expected... dunno, some more tension? Something like that? It picked up with the Crowley and Dick thing but it felt kind of average for being the second to last one.

- Poor prophet kid.

And I don't think I have deeper things to say.

About 7x21:

- I don't know what it says about me but it took me two hours to watch it. I swear every time Cas had more than one line after the other I had to stop because I was like OMG FEELINGS I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS I CAN'T I CAN'T OH BABY WHY CAN'T SOMETHING GO WELL FOR YOU ONCE. No seriously, I died at the pulling fingers causing sparkles thing. I just - I couldn't.

- That said, the crazy!Cas development is veeery interesting. Mostly because at least he's.. more emotional? Idk, I think it's obvious what's going through his head at any given time (seriously Misha, SERIOUSLY HOW GOOD ARE YOU) and I might have died at the group hug - heck, someone do it next time too? Anyway I found the entire thing very very intriguing - it's like, he's detaching himself but he's obviously still guilty and oh my god THE CONVERSATION WITH DEAN WHILE THEY WERE PLAYING THE BOARD GAME OH MY GOD I COULDN'T.

- Also thank fuck there was the conversation with Sam. Can I hope they can become nerdy bffs again or whatever? Because just - it was really good to see it. Re Dean, I totally could get behind his actions - he's obviously repressing shit to no end, but then again he probably feels like he has no other choice. And weeell after how it went in 7x17 I can totally imagine how bad he feels that wait, Cas is back again BUT he's gone off the rails. Oh those two. I'd rant more about the board game scene but I should re-watch it and it'd take me one hour.

- Cas saying he watches the bees - Sherlock Holmes reference anyone? Writers, ilu at times.

- Meg: meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh. I could avoid all the flirting shit. Also wtf, WHOSE FUCKING SIDE IS SHE ON? I mean, fine, she killed Crowley's goons, but WHY did she meet with them in the first place since it seemed like they had agreed on said meeting? Bleah. Never liked her, never will, I don't get it.

- Esther or how she was called smacking Cas around was painful to watch.

- But seeing that there's an angel that doesn't hate Cas isn't a bad thing at all.

- New kid prophet is okay I guess, but ugh if we need prophets can't we have Chuck back? :(

- Other thing about Cas that killed me: that it seemed like the one thing he wanted was for everyone to get along. Considering that everyone he gave a shit about hasn't gotten along since pretty much forever, or at least since he started giving a shit about people in the human sense, it's gutting.

- Last thing: I'M ALWAYS GLAD TO BLEED FOR YOU. UGH. I didn't start the ugly sobbing for some miracle, but - Castiel, damn you, I can't deal with you and your self sacrifice instinct and the fact that you're exactly as bad as those other two. (Except that they don't exactly return the favor, but eeeeh.) I just - HOW CAN ANYONE HATE THAT FACE or dislike someone like that - I can't.

Oh, and he kept the coat above the scrubs. Even if he didn't have it on when he woke up. CASTIEEELLL.

Please survive until next season and get hugged a lot, mmkay?

That said I'm cautiously optimist for the finale and because of stuff that turned up during cons and JEREMY CARVER NEXT SEASON PEOPLE, JEREMY-I-WROTE-YOUR-TWO-FAVORITE-EPISODES-CARVER, so at least I'm not going in with the dread I felt last year..

And with that my very deep thoughts are done. See you tomorrow with the finale review!

3. Woah, that was a lot of tv. Which means that my flaily reactions to The Wind Through The Keyhole are getting posted at the next round, but for now: EDDIE DEAN I MISSED YOU, YAY FOR A CERTAIN PERSON GETTING THE SPOTLIGHT, ROLAND ILU, Stephen King damn you write more side novels I beg you. I suppose this covers it if I don't want to spoil. I also have finished S4 of the Sopranos but it's gonna be discussed next post, too.

4. RL front can be summed up in MEH. The only thing I'm looking forward in the next month is the Bruce Springsteen concert in Milan (<3333) but other than that I just see finals about things I don't care about looming in front of me and ugh. This is officially the most lackluster semester in my entire university run. Where do I find some motivation? Because I'd need a lot of it.

5. In fandom news, I think I need to stay in my bubble at least re GOT until it's over. I knew that this season would have been bad for anyone who merely didn't utterly dislike Theon but the wank has been out of the world crazy. :/ Heck, SPN seems relatively sane in comparison right now.

6. Aaand since I sadly have nothing else, let's have a randm meme to finish this, stolen by elliotsmelliot. It's at least one week old but it serves.

post a list of 20 shows you watch/watched.

•Have your friends list guess your favorite character from each show.
•When someone guesses your favorite character, bold the title.
•When guessed, tell us at least one reason why you like that character.

1. Lost > Boone (guessed by haldoor)
2. Supernatural (two possible answers) 1) Castiel (guessed by haldoor)
3. Deadwood > Trixie (guessed by elliotsmelliot)
4. Six Feet Under > David (guessed by haldoor and elliotsmelliot)
5. Boardwalk Empire > Richard (guessed by elliotsmelliot)
6. Game of Thrones (two possible answers, but there's a third one that its very close to first position so that one might count too)
7. Chuck
8. Leverage
9. X-Files > Scully (guessed by haldoor)
10. The Sopranos (this one might change when I'm over completely but let's put it in anyway)
11. Firefly > Mal (guessed by haldoor)
12. Pushing Dasies
13. Hawaii Five-0 > Danny (guessed by haldoor)
14. Sherlock
15. Judging Amy (I know, this one's mean. Probably no one watched it, but.)

17. Sirens
18. The Wire (one day I'll finish it, I swear, but if you have to guess stick to S1/S2) > Omar (guessed by elliotsmelliot)
19. New Amsterdam (other one that no one has watched, probably)
20. Ally McBeal
