Updates on Bed, Snuggles

Jul 20, 2015 21:57

Son Steve called the bed company (EMEDSTORES) this morning, determined to get his bed this week. Their website promises "Lightning Fast Delivery". He was told they STILL couldn't find anyone to set up the bed. They had someone who lives four hours away, but he didn't want to do it. So Steve called around and found someone who would be happy to do it. So EMEDSTORES will refund the "White Glove Delivery & Set Up" fee, contact the vendor and send me an email for tracking purposes. If I don't get an email tomorrow morning, I'll be on the phone. Next, the trucking company that delivers the bed will only deliver it curbside, so EMEDSTORES says, but if we offer to pay them extra, they MIGHT put it inside the front door, and if they're having a good day, they MIGHT deliver it to Steve's door. That's a lot of "if"s and "might"s. So our mission is to coordinate Harry, his friend D, who has the trailer to take away the dismantled old bed (Harry & D will dismantle the old bed) with the trucking company and the set up guy. Everybody at the same place at the same time. Wheee! Thank goodness my hair is already gray!

Snuggles: Neighbor C came home this afternoon and is imitating the 3 monkeys: Hear no evil, See no evil, Speak no evil, except his story is I don't know anything, I didn't see your messages on FB, the dog was here all week???, I didn't tell you about the dog???. Oh, brother!

I'm posting all these events on LJ for my own information, so I can keep track of when, where & who for future reference. Life gets complicated, and my memory is short.

More Powdery Mildew on the cucumber leaves. *Sigh* The tiny cucumbers are still tiny and the tiny squash are still tiny, but the vines and blossoms on both are going crazy! I know all the plants' energy is going into the vines, but I'd like to get at least two squash or cucumbers per plant before I start chopping vines. The Dipper Gourd vines are climbing up the forked branch in the circle planter, as are the "Love-In-A-Puff" and "Cypress" vines. I decided not to stake the pumpkin plant on the front porch, just let it vine onto the porch floor.

I started reading a book called, "Skin of The Wolf", thinking it was about wolves in some abstract way, and it is about a wolf mask. But it's also about vampires, which is too fantasy for me, so I didn't finish it and returned it to the library. Next book is, "Gentlemen's Agreement", published in 1946. I love books like that. The story might not be great,  but it was written IN that time period, not ABOUT that time period. The writer wrenched the paper out of his typewriter. A couple went to a movie and smoked in the theater. Little things like that.

SKUNK!! Really close by! Air conditioning in the dining room is set to recirculate the inside air, so it's not too bad in here. Oh, my! Kind of makes my eyes water, though.

I'm grateful for Harry

I'm grateful for good health

I'm grateful for the garden & flowers

I'm grateful for my Children & Friends

God Bless
