Hopefully, this will be the final chapter about Dog. Harry talked to his owner, J, today and learned: Dog's name is Snuggles, part Dalmation (white with black spots), part Pit Bull, and J's had him for 11 years. J is homeless at the moment, but is the someone who comes by every day to care for Snuggles. J says Snuggles is very friendly. Our neighbor, C, should be home tomorrow, so Snuggles will have more people around to pay attention to him. I'm still mad at C for not telling us about the dog before they left town.
Talked to daughter M & told her about the visit from the Vietnamese couple yesterday. See my previous post. She remembered them and had stories to tell also: When the family visited and made dinner on the kitchen floor. She remembered they made a dish with "a white blob of fish with watery white sauce". I don't remember that part. M also remembered sliding down the hill across the street on pieces of cardboard. She said they got cardboard signs from Safeway. Hers was a picture of a strawberry. She remembers sliding off the strawberry and getting grass burns on her behind and thigh.
I didn't go to the family reunion today after all. I didn't feel well. I told M I'd made Ribbon Salad (One of her favorites). We also talked about the Vietnamese Meat Rolls that I used to make. M said, "I'll be over for Ribbon Salad, so you have six hours to make Meat Rolls." (the time it takes her to drive from Seattle to Spokane) LOL I probably will make Meat Rolls in the near future, since talking about them has made everyone hungry for them. My son, Steve remembered one time when I made "a hundred" (an exaggeration, I'm sure) Meat Rolls and he and his younger sister ate them all before I got home from work. I don't remember that either. They do disappear really fast, though! I told M I've never found Meat Rolls in any restaurant. "Spring Rolls" are not the same thing. I'll be taking some Ribbon Salad to Steve tomorrow.
Steve said he needed a new shaver head for his electric razor. I get them on line at Amazon, so it was a simple matter of reordering. I've also been ordering Fiber Choice Orange Chewable Tablets from Amazon because I can't find them locally anymore. Now I find that Amazon doesn't sell them anymore either, but directed me to two other sellers. One charges $0.42 PER TABLET, and the other $0.50 PER TABLET! Really??? For a fiber supplement tablet?? I usually pay about $0.13 per tablet. Insanity! I visited the Fiber Choice website, clicked on "Where To Buy", put in zip codes from all over the United States, and got "We are unable to locate any stores in your area". They still have the orange tablets on the website as one of their products. Since I want to make sure Steve is taking the same formula, we're going to switch to Fiber Choice Fruity Bites (Gummys), which are available locally at a low price.
This afternoon, a turkey family came to eat in our front yard. We put bird seed, peanuts and cat food there for the various birds and critters. I counted 12 or 14 babies plus 2 or 3 adults. They were moving around, so it was difficult to count them.
Harry's thinking about going up to the "Property" tomorrow to look at a canoe he might want to buy. The Property belongs to his friend, D and is a couple of hours' north of us. D has a trailer and a lean-to there and has been improving the property for a number of years. I haven't been up there for years, and I won't be going tomorrow either. I'd rather stay home & putter. Harry's already planning fishing trips with his canoe, so I hope it's a good canoe.
I'll close for now, because I want to read some posts.
I'm grateful for my good health.
I'm grateful for the wildlife that visit.
I'm grateful for Harry
I'm grateful for my children
God Bless
