Yesterday morning twelve turkeys showed up in our front yard for breakfast, loudly arguing about who was going to get what. I was asleep, but Harry saw them. I don't know why he didn't wake me.Later he bought a big bag of turkey food (they don't sell small bags). As Murphy's law goes, Harry put some turkey food out and no turkeys in sight! they are community turkeys, showing up for maybe three years in various neighborhoods. They don't seem to live in a specific place, and we don't know where they spend the winter. We'll hope for the best. We live on an very busy arterial street so maybe they have headed south to more quiet neighborhoods.
I tried physical therapy to help my lower back pain for several months, now I'm trying a chiropractor. I've been once. He adjusted, massaged, applied cold & heat, gave me exercises to do, and showed me where the problem is in my back. I like show and tell. I understand and remember things I see better than things I read or hear. I don't take any medicines for pain because it isn't constant, meds don't help. Enough whining about my back. I'm thankful the pain isn't worse and that I'm getting excellent care. Good care is so important now...in this ecomomy and at this time in my life.
Guess I'm still whining, but about my mind this time. Sometimes I'm so sure of something, and then it turns out to be completely different. Sometimes it's just downright embarassing! I'm at KFC/A&W; the young man (they're all so young) asks me if I want some sauces. I say, "I'd like some Arbys sauce, please." He looks confused. I mumble something, wanting to sink into the floor. I got BBQ sauce for my KFC chicken. Oh, my! Then I was looking on FB for a recipe I wanted to try. I thought I put it on my timeline to save it. It wasn't there. I searched and searched through FB, going to others' timelines who comtribute recipes regularly. No luck. So I played it by ear & made the recipe anyway, guessing at the time it should stay in the oven and at what temperature. It came out very delicious. In the middle of the night, I remembered I saw the recipe in the Taste of Home Magazine and not on the computer at all.
Just a side note. Temperature on the front porch is ninety degrees! Have to water the lawn for sure tonight. Put the hose at the base of the crabapple tree, that will then run down to water the Bridalveil and Forsythia bushes. I peeked out back. Harry is panning for gold with the hose in his pan. I closed the front & back doors and turned on the air conditioner and furnace fan. Wow! Didn't think I'd have to do that anymore this year. I'm not complaining, understand. Not looking forward to cold weather. At all. I'm grateful for the air conditioner, our house, our wonderful neighborhood and lots more.
I'll close now for Seahawks football. I also want to print a map of Greece (where my daughter is right now), and add the weather in Greece to my saved locations. Daughter is sailing with a group on the Mediterranian Sea for two weeks. I'm excited to see pictures! I love it when she travels!
God Bless
