Ficus: Harry got it back up on the porch in just a few minutes, with no damage to it or him. He's so good at things like that! It won't be sitting on the rolling stand again until we're ready to bring it inside for the winter. It's fallen off both sides of the porch so many times. It's really a survivor. All I have to do now is put some more potting soil around the top and add a layer of bark to keep the moisture in.

Credit card problem: Amazon & DiscoverCard are both amazing! (See my previous post.) Amazon answered my email in about 3 hours, saying it is indeed a fraudulent charge & crediting it right away. The DiscoverCard  agent quickly cancelled the old card, issued a new one and sent it FedEx right then. He said I'd probably get it Monday because I talked to him Friday afternoon. This morning (Saturday) 9AM the FedEx envelope was delivered. I'm very, very happy with both companies.

Blood Test: Kidney function should be 60 or more. Test said it is up to 55 from 45. Doctor & I were pleased. I have no clue how to keep kidneys healthy except to drink lots of water, or how they get diseased. Hope I never need to find out about the diseased part, Please God.

Harry's at a birthday party for the 15 yr old (15 already??) granddaughter of a friend of his he's known for over 20 years. I say a friend of his because I like the family too, but my introverted self would rather not go to parties, or dinners, or whatever. Whenever I do show up, they're happy I'm there & totally amazed. A baby shower was the last occasion I attended. Ugh! Games at baby showers. Ugh! All those small children I'm uncomfortable around. Ugh! But every once in a while I'll feel the urge to go. Temporary insanity is all I can think of. I'm so, so thankful that we don't have any children in our neighborhood. There may be some down the block, but they are quiet, good children who don't run screaming through the neighborhood. Yes, I know, I had four children who went screaming through this same neighborhood. That was then, This is now.

I have this ritual when I'm paying bills on a Saturday morning: The mailman comes around 9-9:30AM usually. If I get all the bills paid before he comes, I start writing checks to charities until he comes. Sometimes I don't get any done, but today he didn't come until 2PM! So I wrote a lot of checks to charities today! I check with Charity Navigator to see how they spend their money, but even if they check out that way, they have to be an organization close to my heart, and preferably local. I put all the chosen ones in a stack and contribute on one Saturday morning a month....maybe....depending on the mailman! Of course he doesn't know he carries this great responsibility! LOL

Am taking a break after vacuuming & sweeping. Our outside dog carries in straw, dirt, bird seed, sunflower seed hulls, peanut hulls, but I'm not complaining! I love him always & every day. The new chicken flavored pill pockets seem to be working. Harry said he gobbled down his medicine like treats this morning. It's really a challenge sometimes. You can hide the medicine, but you can't make him eat it. (You know, you can lead a horse to water.............) Harry called me right after he left for the party, saying he was watching 7 turkeys go down the street a couple of blocks from our house. We keep a small dish of fresh water in the front yard for thirsty animals, so I told him to invite the turkeys for a drink! They didn't come though. LOL

I'm thankful for God's Grace, all the time, every day.

I'm thankful for family & friends.

I'm thankful for Bear (Wolf Dog) and the other animals & birds who visit the yard.

God Bless
