Saturday was another good day of vacation style hanging out. We wanted to get to the beach earlier than Phil would likely be awake and ready to go for, so we called a cab. We got on the beach by 11:30. Again it was awesome. The water was a little wavier than the day before, but it was nice. Of the 5 hours we spent there, I was in the water 3 1/2 to 4 of them. It was great. We hung out for a little with Mike’s friend Dave again, and then headed to the RV. Phil and Teresa had come down at maybe 4, but were ready to leave. After we got back, we once again began the cleanup process to go out. Phil and Teresa were going to go down to Miami/South Beach to walk around a bit. We didn’t have much interest in that, but we wanted to go to the Hard Rock Café/Casino thing. Phil and Teresa were going to head there later. So Mike’s friend Rachel came by again to take us there. We were good to go just after 10. On the way their, Rachel had a minor fender bender, and broke off her passenger side mirror. Luckily no one was hurt and there was no major damage done. The other car was fine. So we carried on. After getting to the Hard Rock and getting parking, we were inside by about 11. We looked at some of the exhibit-y stuff by the entrance, but the first thing was the casino. So we just went for it.
James was itching for Texas Hold ‘Em, but we ended up mostly just playing video poker. The slots were a ripoff. And there was no blackjack or roulette. We played for about 3 hours or so. I actually managed to play the whole time and only lost 4 bucks. That was quite impressive to me, because I was enjoying myself, And I was actually even to ahead almost the entire time, and only went a little under in maybe the last half hour. James and Mike lost a little but nothing major. Rachel came out a little ahead. After hitting up the casino, we decided to take a walk around the complex. Anyone who’s been to the complex here in Hollywood knows it’s quite a site. It is very upscale, and there is LOTS of stuff there. Clubs, stores, you name it. Very beautiful to look at, very Vegas style. It was amazing. Plenty of expensive cars, the whole multicolor lit up landscape, fountains, etc. The real deal.
By the time Phil and Teresa had shown up, we were pretty much done for however. We ended up finding the RV, and just hanging out while Phil and Teresa went around for a bit. We got back to the site probably about 4:30am.
Another great day of break. No complaints. :)
