Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching
Day 03 - Your favorite new show ( aired this t.v season)

It was just bad and really tainted the Danny/Lindsay relationship for a little while. I wanted to slap Danny for sleeping with that woman. *shudder*

RND is just a bad memory. I firmly believe the writers stole the haters' crack and smoked it while thinking about that disgusting storyline. It actually could have been a good tale to tell if the writers hadn't decided to give us shit-ass drama that made no sense whatsoever. And anyways, I can't feel sympathy for a character I don't even like. Ricardo - and Jacqueline for that matter - rubbed me the wrong way the minute she came on screen in "Child's Play."

The story of Danny's guilt over the death on Rikki's son was...well honestly, stupid. This kid existed in one episode, had never been mentioned before and when he died the audience had no connection to him, so Danny's obsessive guilt was a little hard to swallow.

*applauds* Love it! These are my thoughts exactly. How am I supposed to connect with a character I've only known for practically five minutes? Not bloody likely, that's for sure.

I think the writers smoking hater crack is the only reasoning for this horrid story I will accept. I think it's very telling how it was completely swept under the rug except for that one scene where Danny talks about it in "The Box". It was like even the writers realized "oh shit, this sucks, lets wave a wand and hope no one remembers". Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Rewatching the episodes, which I do occasionally because I think Anna really nails Lindsay's emotions, I just can't get past how ridiculous the character of Rikki was. Like you I couldn't stand her and didn't give a crap about her grief. Had the writers taken time, built some background, made Danny's spiral out of control more believable, maybe the storyline, while still sucky, wouldn't have been so completely wasteful. As it was, it got a huge thumbs down from me.

Wasn't S4 during the writers' strike? I also wonder if they just threw the storyline together because they couldn't think of anything else. Although I've forgiven them because they gave us a) a DL wedding, and b) Lucy.

Yeah, but Ricardo was supposed to return in S5. So I'd rather take a small comment from Danny - and really, it was a confession since the writers were too idiotic to even have Danny tell Lindsay the truth even though I believe she knew - than see Ricardo back.

I refuse to watch the episode. I have S4 on DVD but haven't watched any episodes, and I don't plan to. It's a season I'd rather forget. However, if I were to watch the episode again I'd only watch the scene you're talking about. I'm a huge ( ... )

Season 4 was during the writer's strike in fact this whole arc was right smack in the middle of that time. It started before the writers went on strike and continued after they came back. It's very possible that they couldn't come up with something else to play, but if that was the case than I worry for them as creative people because I could think of a million other stories that would have had an even bigger impact- for instance- Louie. If anything would make Danny spiral it would be Louie's death... speaking of did he ever die or is that just some great mystery never to be addressed. I didn't know that she was supposed to come back- I almost wish she would, just so Lindsay could have her moment and rub her happy life in that witch's face ( ... )
