Day 7: Least Favorite Episode of my favorite show-

This was actually really difficult for me to pick. One reason is I don't really have a "favorite" show. I have a lot of shows I love, that I watch a lot, but not one- solo favorite. After thinking about it I decided to pick the one episode of CSI: NY I think was a real slap in the face to fans of the Danny and Lindsay relationship. (A storyline arc that never really got addressed or dealt with to my liking) So my pick for least favorite episode is:

Right Next Door, Season 4, Episode 16, CSI: NY

The reason I picked Right Next Door, is because I felt like the writers did a huge disservice to the Danny and Lindsay relationship by having Danny cheat on Lindsay with a woman that really didn't matter. The entire plot felt disconnected to the rest of the stories on the show. Rikki, the one he slept with, wasn't really needed. The story of Danny's guilt over the death on Rikki's son was...well honestly, stupid. This kid existed in one episode, had never been mentioned before and when he died the audience had no connection to him, so Danny's obsessive guilt was a little hard to swallow. Add to that the way he treat Lindsay- a woman the audience [and Danny] does have a connection with- well the entire episode just felt off. Later when Lindsay told him that she loved him, it was another slap in the face. The words that all the D/L fans have been waiting for were tainted with Danny's betrayal and Lindsay's heartbreak. Of course that was just the "B" story and the main storyline had to do with a fire at Stella's, which I liked for the most part. I didn't care for some of Stella's actions having to do with the little boy, but I understood them for the most part. I still tear up when she apologizes to him for not getting his message, his plea for help.

Day 8: A Show Everyone Should Watch

I feel like I've already answered this question so instead of a "show" I wish everyone would watch, I'm going to pick an episode I wish everyone would watch and that is:

Penelope, season 3, episode 9 of Criminal Minds.

The thing I think most people don't know about this show is at the core of it is a family. The BAU team (Aaron Hotchner, David Rossi, Emily Pentiss, Derek Morgan, Jennifer Jareau [JJ], Spencer Reid, Penelope Garcia) are a family. They face the most horrific predators on the planet and they each trust that no matter what the team has their back. What I love about Penelope is that family dynamic is on display for all to see. One of their own, one of their family, is shot and they stop at nothing to try and figure out who and why it happened. It also gave the audience a glimpse into Garcia's life. It showed how much she wants to protect her friends and family, to the point that she goes behind the FBI's back to do it. One of the best moments, and let me just tell you there are a lot of good moments in this episode, is at the end when the suspect comes into the BAU and pulls a gun on a fellow agent- the reason I love this scene is because it's shot perfectly, it's very essence is overwhelming. It's up to JJ. She has to take the shot and she does. The reason she gives to Garcia for not flinching when the time was right: You'll do what you have to do protect your family. That's what the entire episode is about- protecting their family.
