Growing up

Last night I went to a wedding reception for my old neighbor growing up. Jon's age is in between my two oldest brothers, so he's about 8 years older than me. I had never met his wife before that night, and I really liked her. It was interesting to see a few of his nieces and nephews whom I hadn't seen in several years, and they are all getting bigger.
Some of Jon's sisters used to babysit me, and last night I drank with one of them (the one without kids yet).

I introduced myself to the bride and she said, "Oh I've heard so much about you. You are the really smart girl!"

At the reception, the Best Man (Tom) walked by our table and was talking to my brother. I smiled and said hi. He said hi and turned back. Then he did a double take. "No! No ff.. way!" (He stifled the f-word as children were present.)
I said, "Yeah way. it really is me."
"I still remember helping Nick shove you in a suitcase and throw you down the steps."
Nick said, "Actually, it was a Pet Taxi."
"Andy used the suitcase," I added.
"You're all lady now."

I really liked the bar tender at the Legion. He was nice.

I also got hit on by a drunk married guy, which I was handling very well, saying nothing was gonna happened. Peter (my brothers' good friend growing up and brother to Nick's best friend Alfred) told him to back off. He said, "She's like my little sister." Later, my brother David took exception to this man and got all up in his face. I found it very upsetting, told him to let me fight my own battles. My cousin Tim told David he needed to learn when to just shut the fuck up.

Later, we went to another bar and another drunk guy was hitting on me. Actually, that started while we were outside waiting for the ride to the bar. Apparently, I have amazing calves.
Tom and Peter were at this bar and Tom bought me my first Jaeg bomb. It actually helped my stomach. I wanted food and I asked the bartender for vegetables and he laughed at me (this was a restaurant bar so I figured they'd have something.)
Peter introduced me to people as his little sister. Also, Tom hung around me while my brother and cousin disappeared. He also gave me a room key, so I wouldn't get stranded there, since he was staying in the hotel next door, and my brother's room was at another hotel. So, I basically had 4 older brothers looking after me that night.

My brother came back though. We got a shuttle to the hotel and got back to the hotel at about 3.  I crashed in the other bed in his room.

I don't get out much, so I'm pretty tired today.

Also, I wore dress shoes yesterday (strappy sandals that I bought for prom and wore for an hour or two at prom). I kept them on all day, too. Kinda proud of myself.

It was exciting to get to watch the Twins game today, even though we lost. (I don't have cable, so I can't watch many games.)
