and then the heavens opened up
Holy Tornado Warning Batman! Mom called and told me to get down to the basement NOW. Two were reported within a couple miles of here. I had been asleep, but was sitting with my fingers in my ears cause the thunder was extremely loud.
The whole side of the building and the basement were completely flooded. I had to be wearing my work shoes too. The water was over my ankles inside, in front of the door it was calf deep. Everything in the storage rooms is ruined or under filthy water. Frogs were swimming by.
We were pretty worried about lightning electrocuting us all. The water was muddy and gross and full of cigarette butts--we were complaining about diseases we were probably getting standing in it. I did get to meet some neighbors.
So now I need to find a hairdryer for the SOAKED shoes I have to wear for ten hours tomorrow. *pissed*
Oh, I foiled a scam artist Friday and even kept the stolen goods, saved the store $84.75 there. My stupid co-workers were harassing me to give the women "her money", but I stuck to my guns and I was right.
I got told "good call" and "great job" the next day. We get so little praise at work, I was like @^_^@ XD XD
