It's been a rough week. We were pretty sure we'd have to put Mom's horse Gen-Gen down Monday, she looks horrible, and by we I mean I, because I'm sure Mom will make me be the one to be with her. I still suffer horrible guilt for NOT staying with Irish, but after having to euthanize Mar-Jo minutes before I just couldn't do it again....
I think Gen knew it could be a death march out to the vet, cause she sure didn't want to go out there. Anyway, the vet wanted us to try something riskier to see if it helped her breathing and call him Saturday. It's working decently, but she can't stay on it forever, only in short bursts, and she's still having trouble breathing with the drug.
She looks terrible. She's lost weight dramatically in the last few weeks cause all her energy is going towards breathing. So now after I psyched myself up for Monday, I have to wait until Saturday, and I should just make Mom put her own horse to sleep and tell her it's not my responsibility.
