So, it took about ten minutes into the audiobook for me to stop squeeing over hearing Zachary Quinto, and then I had to go back and to hear that bit again.
Ugh, don't mind me, I'm just sad that I've finished reading what you have up of the tiny!Spock fic and I am going through your other fic. I came across this, and I was like "OMG I LOVE THE AUDIOBOOK, ZQ ZQ ZQ SQUEE" and decided to read it.
1. The explanation as to why young!Jim decided to take the car on a joy ride
yeah agreed - in the movie, I had no idea why he was taking a joyride, I just assumed he was supposed to be rebellious and thrill seeking. Everything made so much more sense in the audiobook with that tiny bit of explanation. I am hoping it will show up as a deleted scene on the DVD.
I also really enjoyed the inclusion of Spock's birth, mostly because I like how this whole story is about the two of them, not just about Kirk, so it's a great balance to include that alongside Kirk's birth story.
I... never realized how Nero essentially decided to keep Pike as a pet, but now I will be finding that hilarious from now on, OMG LOL.
Oh Uhura :C :C :C I really enjoy her now that I am watching OST online and everything, but I'm not the biggest fan of nu!Uhura unfortunately. I think she's awesome, but IDK I find it strange that such a smart girl would date her professor. She's too smart to jeopardize her future that way, I like to think. At the same time, ZQ doing her voice makes it really difficult for me to concentrate on her as a character because um, it is really freaking distracting. LOL

Just one little line would have been just perfect.
Spock's birth was a great parallel. Especially, since he ws born at the same time as a star went nova. That made me flail when I heard it.
When I listened to that part when Nero decided to not kill Pike after all. I was so boggled I had to stop and listen to it again. Then I died of laughter.
My affection for Uhura probably carries over from my decade long TOS love. I think that if I hadn't been so into TOS before I saw the movie I would have also thought that nu!Uhura was too bitchy.
Also, I agree about the WTF that she has a relationship with one of her teachers. Honestly, I'm telling myself that part was new and that they were friends first. Maybe it didn't even develop until after Uhura was so close to graduating. Yeah, I'm fanwaking like crazy.
First time ZQ did his Uhura voice, I just about died. It was so funny and high-pitched. I had to pause the audiobook to let out the lulz. =D
